Why is there a Transaction broadcast error on orders for the Currency Market?

in steemit •  7 years ago  (edited)

I want to buy some Steem.

Why do I get a Transaction broadcast error when I place an order in the Currency Market? And why is it happening with posting sometimes too?

What's up, devs & witnesses? Can you fix this and/or explain why we're seeing these glitches?

Who/where is the appropriate resource to inquire about these kinds of things? Is there a way to contact someone that I am not aware of? I suggest a #suggestionbox so our community and the Steemit, Inc wizards can communicate better.

@vandeberg @roadscape @almost-digital @sneak @originate @firepower @andrarchy @ned et al.

Thank you for your efforts, ladies & gentlemen.

Hi Sara, here's our bug tracker for the frontend where you can report new issues and check on the status of others:

There's a similar bug to yours we're working on:
https://github.com/steemit/condenser/issues/1871

So great to see you around brother!

Thanks for all your help making Steemit amazing!

Thank you @roadscape that was exactly the type of forum I was looking for!
It doesn't look like there's much to update towards this particular issue. Hopefully it starts flowing soon!

Hi Sara, I'm always available on steemit.chat or via [email protected]. We're aware of the bug and working on a fix that should be done shortly. It doesn't have anything to do with the transaction volumes. I'll try to get more info and provide an update. We understand that people want more communication from us and are working on a longer term solution that will provide more real-time updates to the community, there's just a lot of other things that are high priority as well.

Thank you, @andrarchy!

I appreciate your acknowledgement and that efforts are being made to fix it. So are you the one to contact if we run into issues like this? It seems like it would be a lot more efficient & effective to have something more public so that many people with the same question could access the same answer at once.

I respect and appreciate all the team is doing to make this the best experience it can be! One of the greatest things about SteemFest is the personal interfacing between the makers and the users - it will be great when we find a sustainable way to maintain that kind of direct access and clear communication online.

That's what we're working on. The engineers just have a lot on their plate. We appreciate everyone's patience as we try to make every part of the steemit.com and the Steem blockchain experience as pleasant as possible.

We all want the best Steemit it can be! It's really valuable that the team is willing to hear, acknowledge, and integrate user concerns, as well as to respond - even if it's just to say "yes we know this is happening, we're working on it." It's important & much appreciated that you took the time to do that here.

I hope to see a fluid and efficient way to do that soon, because maybe it's not so pleasant for the engineers to be hounded about it either.

Perhaps it's a virus and spread from the post page. :-)
I'm even getting this in replying comments now.

I've seen it lots more in the last month+ than in my entire year+ on Steemit. As a non-techy user, it would be nice to know what's going on.

I think not even the techie outsider knows.:-)
Last week, I was totally confident "Transaction broadcast error" = Posted. :-)
This week, less confident.

Having been here over a year, with a 70 rep, you should probably stay away from this type of question, you may get cut off from the gravy train.

Leave it to those of us that have been asking questions all along, then when stinc, et al, gets mad it will be with one of us.
its hard to take away what we haven't gotten.

I do not fear requesting a dialog with the creators of this platform - they are receptive and considerate individuals who listen to the issues brought before them.

That this post may not get an answer is kinda my point in making it too, because we could easily create something like a #suggestionbox to submit these types of concerns. And we could have a bit more clarity between user experience & what's going on behind the scenes.

If something like that already exists and I am just ignorant of it, I ask that someone please bring it to my awareness.

We value constructive feedback like this and are doing everything we can to make this platform as pleasurable experience as possible.

gag me,...

(edit) Disagreed with your reward.

Obviously, Sarah, I would be happy with them, too.
Were I in your position.

Favoring one over another is the very basis of crapitalism, and we got the best in the business right here on Steemit.

Until room is made for the anti-social this ship will flounder just like the rest of the fleet.

Imo.

Unfortunately, our interaction to the steemit system today is a bit aburadul, I also experienced the same thing this afternoon, but after trying many times I finally managed to make transactions, although the value is only a little.
My advice keep trying and repeat again, maybe because too many users are about to transact today due to the steam price fluctuations, so the system is a bit overwhelmed

Surely Steemit Inc is preparing for huge transaction volumes? Without communication & notification, we do not know if these issues are being acknowledged.

Yes i also facing this problem a little while ago on internal market but i think it is fine now you can go and check now, i hope it works.

Not yet for me!

Great question @gardenofeden! I've run in to this a few times when trying to submit a post. The interesting thing is that it still processes, but not sure if the same thing happens when attempting to purchase things.

I posted about this yesterday and got this link to report the issue.
