Steemit seems dealing with pending applies once every 3 or 4 weeks. It's not surprising to see hundreds of account creations in a single day. Spammers just submitted much more applies than normal users.
This kind of flaw in account creation needs a fix, or it will lead to more spams and even Sybil attacks in future.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
