I still have confidence in the platform. I think the drop off has a lot to do with the 'threat' or promise of a steemit 2.0 by Dan Larimer. A lot of the whales pulled their steem and I am guessing invested in EOS ready to jump ship when the platform was released, but as it hasn't been released yet, perhaps we are seeing the return of a few people due to them not making money by waiting for something to happen? I think when the new platform is released, we will probably see a few more people selling off steem to buy into the new one, but hopefully enough people stay faithful to steemit and keep this platform alive. I think it is a well established site and has proven its worth so we need to find a good contact base here and keep promoting the use of steemit. It is hard to stay motivated though when you lose the support of the bigger players I have to admit.

Any other site has to build up a community and we already have that. We need to exploit it to keep people enthused. It's not just about the money, but I know that's a factor for many

absolutely! I am open to suggestions on how to do this. I think if we just wait for it to happen, it won't. I remember @article61 held an open evening about crypto and steemit in his local pub which got a little interest, but I am wondering if there is something we could do on a larger scale? The UK is a tough market.

I really hope we can find ways to give steem more of a boost in the UK.

perhaps we could get the UK steemit users together somehow and do some kind of promotion? Not necessarily a meetup in person, but something virtual so that location isn't an issue?

I keep having confidence it Steemit and Steem currency. The problem is that indeed when people stay away it isnt for the benefit of steem, so we do have to manage to get more people onboard. But how ? 😀 its difficult...

I have confidence in the future of Steem but I have also powered down alot. My reasons for power down came from dealing with users such as Bernie Sanders who abuse the platform and dictate. I figured if I power down I can get rid of it when the time is right. I love the platform but I hate dictators. There are internal battles within steem that create a bad environment.
For now though its still the counter culture "go-to"platform.

I'm quite confident about the price on the short and the mid-term but really believe some things need to change to make it all survive in the long run. A way to peg the SBD to actually 1$ would be a good start

Personally I've never had the thought of taking a look at this, but it's interesting to see now! Glad to see we're slowly on the rise. All we can do is keep doing what we do here.

Interesting to see the numbers again.

Although I wish everything wasn't quite so dependent, BTC has been trying to make a bottom since early June... and if that tide turns, perhaps some of the other valuations will start creeping up again, and then activity here will start creeping up again.

Much as we might like to think that it's otherwise... sadly, everything here seems to be "all about the money." Which is really ironic, given that many are leaving Steemit because "rewards a low" so they can go back to Facebook and Instagram and get... absolutely nothing?

Which just speaks to a strange kind of human "entitlement" that I will just not get into now!

My country Pakistan is climbing up the list and the rank of 895 is nice...

I have observed a surge lately from third world countries, indicating steemit utility in helping poor folks/family.

I'm glad to see 895 users from my Country and the page view rate is 2.8% higher than average.

Dan has said he's making this, but it's not what you think. It may be something on his EOS coin. Steemit is still evolving too
