I did the same thing in italian for italian newbies, but it is still amost impossible to prevent suspicion and mistrust :)

True but when they see you buy groceries......!

should be a good point, actually :)

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Clear and concise guide for the beginners, @steevc. If I found some time I'm gonna translate it so that more people can see it.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

That will be great. Please let me know and I'll share it

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

If I do it, you'll certainly be first to know, @steevc :)

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

I think that it was thorough and well written. I especially liked the section on Where Does The Money Come From.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

It's tricky to explain. I hope this helps

I am glad you broke this up in such a clear and concise manner. I admit the financial aspect of it is something I struggle to understand.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ (edited)

What a great break down for new people! I remember being on TSU also πŸ˜‚... I built a huge team of 100k in a month but like u said, it went down. My plan is to do the same for steemit! πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

I think Steemit can be much more than Tsu. I want to see millions here

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

That's what I'm talking about... Millions :)

Good post! Very informative. I don't quite understand steem dollars yet either but I am holding it while I enjoy the platform.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

I'm treating my Steem Dollars as my spending money and keeping all the SP. Previously I have powered up just about everything

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Sbd were meant to be pegged to the US dollar but they have not proved to be very stable. With BitShares Dan Larimar did this with the bitusd and it has proved to be a rock solid peg. Even during the recent sell off where all alt coins suffered major pullbacks the bitusd was pretty well stable at $1.00. Those who traded into it during the sell off locked in all of their profits and could buy back into other alt coins at a much lower price.

@justinlinville this is a pretty good explanation of how Steemit works

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Very well explained for the novices under us :) I wil resteem this.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Thanks for that. This helped me too as I had to think about how things work

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ (edited)

I been here a bit over a week and only now (reading this) figured out some stuff! Ty for throwing some light. :)

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

No problem. Happy to help

Great job on this! This even helped me understand how things work around here a little better. Thanks @steevc!

I think you have covered it well - i actually learnt something reading your post

So glad to read back from you @steevc!
It is just an amazing post that you pen down here, truly fully packed infos to help any newbie who joins the platform!
It is a fact that when new users join in, they are completely lost and can't understand anything that's going on! I have been one of them too and still learning!
Cheers

I've not seen all this information in one place. Perhaps I should offer to help with the FAQ, but they are free to use what I have written

You really did an amazing job in collecting all these infos @steevc! Anyone on Steemit will just love to use this as a reference!

That's a pretty good concise description that doesn't over-promise rewards. I like the focus on the social blogging and lack of ads.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

I won't promote Steemit as a get rich quick scheme as it won't work for most people. It can still be useful to them

It's not quick, that's for sure, lol! ; )

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

so SBD will always remain near to a Dollar price effectively ?

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

That was the idea but it has fluctuated wildly. At one point it reached over $2.00

You can check the price here: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/steem-dollars/

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

It's supposed to, but the market may have other ideas. It was trading much higher recently. I think the idea is that the witnesses could control it by limiting supply, but that didn't work. It's back where it should be for now

@steevc great post .. I am resteeming so my minnow friends and followers can see this one. I see the info around but you explained it in an easy way. I also like that you include info that is to the point and not all nice and shiny.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Thanks. I hope it's useful to them

Great overview of the platform and how it all works around here, @steevc! I'm sharing this to my personal social media as we speak. Well done.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Cheers. Just trying to help. I hope my friend likes it

great post, overview "There are under 300,000 users and it may not be quite ready for millions.", yes, I'm interested to see what changes will happen to make it even more appealing/user friendly. peace

That was very informative @steevc i always thought that steemit was the only way to access the blockchain.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Then I have achieved something :)

As per usual @steevc πŸ‘

really useful content! Reestemed!

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Not that bad to remind what's steemit time after time lol.

Great stuff! Thanks, this will be a helpful tool to encourage new accounts!

that was very well explained. good job. I think you cant recover your account if you lose your pasword. I read it somewhere I think.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

There is some way to do it, but it may not be simple. Best to avoid it if you can

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Not if you lose it. If your account is hacked you can recover your account by proving that you have the original key.

I am learning, and thank you for the update
