Hey you!
"I'm new here and to be frank, I only came here for the money!"
This kinda feels cheap and wrong to say, but it's the honest truth. I thought a whole day about what to write and in what form... and now I'm just writing the first things that come to mind, figures. Gone are all my thoughts about writing my lifestory in a long, stylish, narrative fashion, because... who gives a shit?! I actually wouldn't. I'd fall asleep if I had to read about my uneventful life.
Anyway, long story short: I was given birth like 25 years ago. Went to school, then to college and now I have a masters degree in Civil Engineering. I don't like my field. I'm still figuring out what to do with my life while others of my age are already getting married, having children etc. Feels kinda strange. In all honesty, I'd never wan't to settle down or have a life like that. Yet I'm not sure what it is I'm waiting or looking for. But I know that working from 8 to 5 in a field which doesn't interest me for the next ~15years until I've invested enough to have an passive income is not what I want.
So, how did I find Steemit?
There was an excellent post by Rob : https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@orm/hey-i-m-rob-i-volunteer-travel-and-build-things-out-of-earth
I've been thinking about volunteering a long time and what he talks about in the TED talk reflects my own thoughts and life.
(As funny as it may sound, when I was 7 my teacher asked us what we want to be when we grow up and the only reasonable thing I could come up with was "a construction worker". Fast-forward 18 years, Ohh, the irony. So bad. :D )
Rob's presentation really sparked my evergrowing plan to try out volunteering, but I also noticed what He said about Steemit aaand here I am, trying out my luck.
I'm an introvert myself. Never blogged in my life (except that one time in the Ultimate-Guitar community years ago). That's why I almost freaked out about my first post. "How can I make it catchy? What about style? How long should it be? What should I write about? etc" But thanks to many useful posts like Christian Lains who also did a good introduction to Steemit on youtube : HERE. I found that 'less thinking, more writing' works best.
Since it's my first blog post... ever, it already feels erratic and crazy to me, but onwards I'll try to make my posts more structured and concentrate on specific topics rather than just type down every thought I have :D
But now I'm interested in YOU!
How did you find Steemit and what are your plans with it?
Let me know in the comments!
Also new here, it is a crazy world where we can blog to our hearts content, that has to be a good thing surely? good luck :)

Hello and welcome, I found Steemit through a Lets Talk Bitcoin podcast. I popped down the Bitcoin/Crypto currency rabbit hole about 3 years ago now. Since then my mind has been opened to how decentralised, trustless systems can empower and liberate so many. Steemit is a good example of this mighty wave of change that is going to have a lasting impression for years to come. We are still in early stages of the crypto revolution and it's going to be an exciting ride. This really will bring the power back to the people. See you around.
