How To Edit Your Posts Using Markdown Style

This post will explain what Markdown Style is and teach you some of the basics of how to use it and overall allow you to make your posts look much nicer.

What Is Markdown Style ?

Markdown is a lightweight computer language with plain text formatting syntax. Using markdown you are able to edit posts such as centralising text and pictures and many other things which I will explain in this post.

Centring

To center text and images you simply have to put a center tag in front and at the end of what ever your centring. For example :

I have to use pictures as the tags won't show up on the post as they try and edit everything else after them and disappear.

Size Of Headers

To change the size of a header you have to do the same thing as you did with the center tags but with the header tags instead. For example:

There are 6 different sizes of headers. To choose a different size you just change the number in the tag to a number between 1 and 6. The sizes are shown below:

Section Divider

As you may have seen on my posts, I have lines which divide all of the different sections. To do this you only need to use one tag as shown below:

Thank you for this comprehensive guide. I had learned a few of these so far but this definitely helps to fully comprehend the markdown format and to be able to use it. Have fun out there and good luck with future posts!

Thank You make sure to resteem to help others out :)

Good tutorial. This is needed very much at this stage of my transition into steemit. Formatting test is the most difficult thing for me now. But i think this tutorial has done the deed for me. I can now use steemit to the fullest

thank you so much. have tried a bit in centering the text.

Great guide. Brand new to Steemit so this helps a ton!
