The biggest reason why I joined Steemit.
Actually I didnt like Steemit in first place. I first found out about it when I checked which Altcoin was the most valuable on Coinmarketcap.com. I was like WTF, there is a new currency and I didnt heard about it. So I checked it out, I like the idea about in the beginning but later actually I dropped it because I read some reviews about it, that community is kind of small and its only people from Steemit upvoted each other.
But then I was watching Chris Coney's Youtube: The Cryptoverse, and I really like that he is commenting the news that he thinks are the most valuable of each day. He actually doesnt have so many suscribers, but the content he is creating actually is giving me value. So one day I watched a ideo of him talking about steemit. And he told me that I can support him without even donating by just upvoting his post.
But actually I didnt joined the community yet. One thing that really impressed me that a big part of the community are female, which is in my view not so often in the cryptoworld, where you find alot of women, but I didnt joined yet.
The final decision that actually made me join, was when I was introduced to CEO of Youthia , Mandy Shemuvalula.
I was exciting talking to her but she had a vision, its just she wasnt really clear about alot of things. She was having the idea that she would get 1'000'000 African people together in a community, but she wasnt really sure about how.
You can check out her Webpage, http://www.youthia.co/.
I thought she is kind of crazy, but craziness is usually something good. So what would happen to Steemit if the Steem Community would welcome them and train them. Having 1 Million African Youth Entrepreneur wouldnt be bad. Think of like this, when M-PESA was launched in Kenya, the big Banks completly ignored poor people. Poor people dont have money, so you cant earn money from them. But M-PESA was skyrocking. 10'000 User in the first month, 1 Million User after the first year and now more then 20 Million Users.
People in Africa use Facebook, but they dont get paid. Unemployment rate is pretty high, but Youth are techsavvy.
I have seen many Kenyan people creating good content and it actually pays them better then being employed somewhere for 200$. I am pretty sure with some effort people can earn more money on Steem. I dont think all of those 1 Million people are able to create good content, but it would be really nice to get 1 Million people on the Steem Experiment.
