Steemit Dan and Ned will most likely introduce a Cragistlist-it marketplace

This is ground breaking and is possibly the beginning of a reserve currency that could one day rival existing state backed currencies. If the whole ecosystem never has to convert out of steem or steem dollars this will introduce a new paradigm in the world. Bitshares will also be helped because it could eventually introduce a new way of voting. A way of voting eliminating corruption and possibly vote rigging.

What type of marketplace can Steemit introduce:

  • Renting places for short term or long term rentals (think Craigslist or Airbnb)
  • Buying houses or other forms of real estate (think MLS or Zillow)
  • Financial services: think mutual funds, private equity funds, bonds, loans etc (think banking and investing)
  • Goods and services: think geotargetted bicycles, tvs, etc or haircuts and car washing (think Walmart)
  • Wholesale goods (think Costco)
  • Commodities (think Alibaba, or the CME)

This system is revolutarionary and could start the global revolution of peace, goodwill and liberty

@dantheman has always said he wants to make the current system obsolete...
and many of us have backed his vision through bitshares and now to steem. The coolest thing about it is that he is likely to have other tricks up his sleeve we do not even know about yet... :)

I agree if anything Dan is very scrappy. He bootstrapped his way to this, hopefully he becomes the first crypto-billionaire.

Dan is one smart cookie, and driven. I think Steemit has finally given him the means to realize his vision for a better world. Well, that and some toys. ;)

IMO, I hope the marketplace is more Ebay-like than Craigslist-like.

A. The user experience (or GUI) of Ebay is much better, and more user friendly.
B. The profit model of Ebay seems to be more lucrative than Craigslist.

I am hoping that the marketplace will have a separate GUI than the social networking aspect of Steem. I think the GUI should practically be a carbon copy of Ebay, so that way it is familiar and therefore easy for people to jump in and use it.

You do bring up good points though that there are many different types/markets of lucrative marketplaces that Steem can go after.

Yes, please don't follow in Craig's footsteps. The idea is sound, don't get me wrong but at least ad the ability to comment or something. I bet Craig hasn't even showered in a month.
