Steemit. Where you can get paid more for a good write up on your fuck-ups... than you lose fucking-up! ;o)

and counting...

It's an anti-fuck up tax

my eyes are rolling inside my head lol...

Haha! Good point!

I know that feeling all to well man. I sold some steem at 0.35$!! I felt a bit like..

Sorry to have that happen to you, i'd hate myself!
But a very funny post, i love your style

Lol ,I can't believe Gordon Ramsey actually did that... what an arsehole!

He can be! But seriously, it's just an act. Have you seen his masterchef junior show? He;s a sweetheart :D

Indeed, I'm a fan! That gif though... haha, he's like an evil tyrant :)

Your name reminds me of wang... The infamous Steem bot.

I do not approve of this Sandwich.

I could see myself making this exact same mistake! :( I hope they can help you get your money back!
This made me laugh! Not at your misfortune but because I feel like I can fully relate! Lol.
I really hope you get your funds back :)
Smile and try to have a good day.

Might aswell upvote to help you out a little. Sorry for laughing but most of the guys that had the same reaction are people that have been in crypto for quite a while. It's standard procedure for doing your due diligence (asking around, googling etc) checking the toolbar before entering logins, using 2FA, double checking who you sent the money to (BTC address) etc etc.

Coinbase also doesn't support SD so there's another hint right there. Anyway I think it was overexcitement after getting a few good posts in.

You live and learn.

Keep Steeming !

Haha cheers! ^

Ah shiiiit, sorry to hear this @thisisbenbrick. I hope that you get your BTC back. I still haven't quite gotten over the recurring nightmare of losing 13 BTC last year, or the other times previously where buy and sell orders, that would otherwise have made me some very nice profits, didn't get triggered, on numerous occasions, because of "unprecedented exchange technical problems".....servers blah blah......hot wallet maintenance.......blah blah etc. etc. I had vowed never to ever get involved with crypto again, but here I am, like the glutton for punishment that I am. Bring it on!

13 BTC?!

Sorry for your 'accident' but you really might be in luck if @coinbase is controlled by Steemit.

This is all very interesting, though - were they so prudent to register various keywords in-house? If yes - great for them :)

Amazing isn't it! I bet Twitter registered @Nike (etc)

Don't be so hard on yourself @thisisbenbrick , I think if you scoured enough crypto forums out there you would probably find that many others have made similar mistakes in the past. What keeps you coming back and stronger is learning from them. Plus, the whole @ned thing helps :)

Now, tossing your hard drive with 7,500 BTC out into the garbage on the other hand...

I once sent a $500 e transfer to a .ca instead of .com hotmail address and put the password in the question line.

Lol

So you will earn even more! I support you here!))

Yes, Coinbase is not set up here and they don't trade STEEM either!

Damn man. Youre so lucky we got a Good CEO here or should i say 'We are so lucky to have him'. :)

Yep, actually crazy that I might get it back

GUYS WE DID IT!

It make does make you wonder what % of the bitcoin money supply in fact needs to be filed under "uh, actually, I fucked up, I don't have any bitcoins at all".

My (most recent) crypto foul-up involved...Steemit.

After the hack, I thought that I'd follow the sensible advice and change my password. Opened up my password manager, generated a new password and pressed save, filled in the form and submitted. Oh, it needs to be 32 characters long and my password manager was set to create 16 digit passwords for another site. No problem, I'll repeat the process. Done.

So now I have a nice new password and go to login. Except that I forgot to save the new password that I'd generated. And, even though KeePass keeps a nice history of your passwords, it doesn't keep a history of the passwords that you generated and then - for some ridiculous reason - decided to manually copy-paste into the Steemit form.

So, naturally, I went through the four stages of crypto grief, which end with "It was your own fault", and concluded that I'd lost my account forever. But then I remembered that part of the post-hack upgrade was the recover your account feature - and that's what I did. It took like a minute, and I was back in.

So it's official: Steemit is the first time that you can use cryptocurrency without the constant fear that you are about to, metaphorically, shoot yourself in the face.

hehe it happens..

This is a good warning to us all. Thanks.

sorry thisisbenbrick, more carefull :D

Wow man tough break! But it sounds like there could be a Disney ending to all this :/ you should've seen the McDonald's and known nothing was going to go right for 24 hours ;)

I'd withdrawn once before and thought 'agh this is easy'. Whoops!

Yeah I experimented and learned how to move some SBD back and forth to bittrex, but still it could easily have happened to any of us. I fully expect another post once this is resolved either way ;)

Think at me. the only time I wanted to send over 200 LTC(because I was sleepy as hell and could make it) I left them there. When I remembered(because I'm an idiot aswell) that I had them, I checked the casino, and the casino was...well.. gone.

The greatest and most comical customer review blog I ever read. Thank for bringing this in light...since still new to the site, afraid that might happened to anyone else, too.

Double check those memos!

Live and learn. We are all prone to this kind of mistake. I'm sure you will get it sorted. But McDonald's? No.

Haha. A day of regrets!

And it looks like you got enough back to get those bitcoins back :)

Keep up the good work... loved the song I've heard so far.

I'll keep this article as a bookmark, to comfort me whenever I do something really idiotic (that's nearly, once every 30 minutes).

I hope you're proud, I made this just for you. (a reworked artwork, made originally by Cyanide and Happiness)

you in luck buddy

😜😜😜😊😊😊😊😀😀😀😋😋😋😋

Ok. Rocket Away
But wait this is real one 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀

Hey Idiot @thisisbenbrick hahahaha I remember you from the chat. It looks like Steemit could use a TIFU topic. This is definitely a TIFU post.

Hi again. I've made a reference to your story in my latest article. I hope that you don't mind :)

https://steemit.com/steemit/@ervin-lemark/how-to-quickly-buy-steem-power-with-bitcoin

I just put you over $800, I would just say thanks, but you'll probably direct deposit to me -

so thank you!

Glad this thread ended up trending. Even if you don't get it back, you were able to post about it when otherwise you wouldn't have had the story to tell. That's the thing I love about this place, sometimes there's some saving grace. ;-)

really happy with your refund @thisisbenbrick 8]

Shit happens day to day.

Sorry to hear it. My upvote is worth 0, but if you want you can grab an english breakfast background here. cheers!

This was an extremely hilarious post hahaha!! Awesome that you are a fellow musician dude!!! Also, I saw your 'We did it' reply down in the comments, so I'm really glad that you got this all sorted out!!

I hope you don't do the same thing with the nice payout from this post hahah!!!

Have a great day dude!!
YEAH BUDDAYYY!!

This is a lesson well learned @thisisbenbrick.

Your whole experience with the imposter might have cost you a pretty penny, but you've not only learned a great lesson from this, you've also taught us a priceless lesson.

Thanks for sharing this with us!

This is crypto. Losses will happen and they will happen to everyone at some point in time. Just keep participating and you'll wind up ahead.

Sounds like a typical Americanized weekend to me. Get drunk, throw out some random tweets, lose money, eat McDonalds and basically let your body die the next morning LOL.

Simple rule - when you need cash, don't look at the charts

Welcome to crypto...Where YOU are your own bank! Don't worry man...We all make mistakes...But look on the bright side: You'll have an even bigger story when Bitcoins are worth $100,000+:)

The McDonald's logo is devil horns, think about it, and I hate learning the hard way with large sums of money. It really blows. I hope you come across a way to make it back. Life always balances itself out.
