Hi @kkposts. The lack of guidance/help is a problem. There are a few solutions in the works though.
- @ned is working on adding an official FAQ
- We are working on a "Welcome to Steemit" page with helpful tips and info that new users will see when they sign up. (info here)
- There is a steemprentice channel in Steemit chat, where you can go if you have questions.
