Steemit Needs This Feature

in steemit •  7 years ago

Steemit has done a lot of good work in providing an environment in which steemians feel welcome and validated.

A few minutes ago, I was exploring the site looking for content I would be interested in . I noticed that Steemit does not have the option to follow particular topics or niches. Another site I know, HubPages, has this option.

Steemit is definitely a great community that members love to participate in. The addition of a feature or two would make it even better. Note: Image attributed CC-0 (Pixabay)

Finding topics that relate to a particular niche is pretty hard here on Steemit. The only way to sort of do this is to use the "Explore" option on the pane that is visible when one clicks the horizontal bars next to the profile picture. This has the limitation of only allowing one to view content with trending tags.

If the site provided an option to follow niches or tags of interest (not just individual users), it would help members engage with the content of their choosing. This would foster more lively engagement on the site.

For example, I love reading content about piano playing, wildlife conservation, and social activism, but it is virtually impossible to find that kind of content here even if it is lurking somewhere in the deep.

Another feature the site definitely needs is the option to separate original content from resteems when viewing a profile. I have more than once had a hard time finding a person's original content on their profile because of the number of resteems listed.

Hope this bit of earnest site feedback reaches the powers that be.

As you may or may not know i was hacked a few days ago. I feel like a great feature would be email conformation if you want to change your password.

I'm sorry you went through a tough time here.

@tintiano what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

Stay strong, bro!
