Advertising - how you should not do it!

Sorry to outline this but it is quite important. If people / companies should be attracted to advertise on Steemit we should avoid such a spammy pop-up series. I hope this was only a tech bug that is solved soon - maybe only related to the Firefox browser but should be eliminated as we lose (again) potential members of the Steem ecosystem by that.

Firefox prevented this site from opening 30 pop-up windows

Trust is Key

People react in panic often when seeing this as it could be the result of unwanted software or malware, especially Pop-Ups and new tabs that won't go away. My first reaction was to run all security checks I could get hold of. Come on guys, that is not looking very trust-worthy! This blockchain has still a lot people with excellent #marketing skills so I am sure this was just a little minor mistake and the future is bright. I support my clients since 20 years in Marketing & PR and building trust is a key basic element that is mandatory.

what ? are you sure that it wasn't just a bug ? Luckily I haven't seen any pop-up's notifications in my chrome yet, but if it is true and we are surrounded here by a huge spam, a lot of newcomers will simply quit faster than join...

might be I had no pop-up blocker on firefox but still - happened three times - not tested again these days again.

I found few more similar topics on steemit, all seems to state the same. In my opinion it is a bit sad

30 popups hahaha

Yes. Hopefully this is just a minor mistake and it will be fixed and I have hope for a bright future.

steemit Inc. they don't trust in Steem look this post:

Nope - in that case I understand the decision to offer payment by ETH or BTC as it is to attract investors / advertisement from the outside - doubt any of them own SBD or Steem. This is one of the few things I would even consider as one by the Steemit Inc :-)

This means that a Steemian who wants to advertise at Steemit should first change his Steem/SBD to BTC or ETH? Sorry, that's against any economic thinking. Steem/SBD should be on the move, everyone who has Steem or SBD should be able to use it as a means of payment, even with the inventors. That is my personal opinion.
