Day 3: Be Cool (30 Days Of Steemit Success)

in steemit •  7 years ago

Steemit is one of the coolest websites with the coolest community... now you just need to be cool!

I have been delegated 1,000 SP to help new Steemonians find Steemit Success. Over the month of September I will be posting daily about different strategies, tips and tricks to help you become the best Steemoninan you can be. You can start at the beginning if you want.

In my mind, Steemit is filled with a bunch of sunglasses in the nighttime wearing, Michael Jackson smooth people. This is a cool place. The reason for the coolness?

Here, more than the real world, we treat each other with respect. We are cool to each other. We appreciate the effort other Steemonians put into making this place the best site on the net.

This is a giving economy. You give your vote, your money and your time. We give people great replies and positive suggestions. When people are doing well, we give them a big pat on their back with a solid upvote.

When we the uncool trolls or people being rude, they don't get a vote. When we see uncool people posting content they stole from another site, we flag.

If you intend on being positive on this site you will see great rewards. Offer great replies that add value to the writer and you succeed. Offer interesting and thoughtful posts and add value to the community and you will succeed. If you just nice and helpful to the people you interact with... you will win. And winning is cool on Steemit.

You get a lot further with honey than vinegar.

Helping Others Is Cool!

When I first got here, I had no idea what I was doing. I remember my first vote... @everittdmickey. He helped me and is one of the coolest Steemonians in my mind.

One of the people who I appreciate the most and always try to vote and comment on his posts... @nanzo-scoop. This guy has shown me incredible support and I couldn't be more appreciative.

These are people that have really helped and encouraged my journey and you will find those people too. Make sure you stop by and keep in touch and support the people that support you. It is hard. I have a hard time going to other blogs on a regular basis, but I really try. Then I catch up the best I can. I do appreciate a ton of cool people on here and the cool thing for me to do is to return the favor.

Right now, find a couple cool people to support and engage with them in their comment section. Get to know them and help them out in whatever way you can. Just treat people right. Be cool with everyone. Even if you disagree with someone, just be nice and present your case... don't be a dick.

REMEMBER...

Being positive and supportive is cool on Steemit. Be one of the cool kids...

Today's Question

Who are some really cool Steemonians that have helped you out and you think new people should follow?

The best comments will be 100% upvoted and added to the eBook for 30 Days of Steemit Success.

Thank you for reading Day 3: Be Cool.  This blog is part of a project that @dragosroua and @alexvan are supporting. I am deeply appreciative of their support for my project. The 30 Days of Steemit Success will be a series of blogs posted daily on Steemit to help new Steemonians. All of the blogs will be put together to create an eBook that will be available for download in October for all Steemonians for free.

To my followers, you are the blades on my copter... you lift me up.

Great post @walkingkeys -- i couldn't agree more!

I've been here a little over two months and i've already met a whole bunch of cool people. One guy @britcoin sent me a 10 oz Silver coin -- a real stunner! -- after i won one of his contests. Others have been super supportive with votes, advice and great comments -- i feel like i'm getting to know people here :)
Also, i have helped at least 5 people get bitcoin wallets, and funded a few of them. And, i swapped a cool Steemit decal logo for a 1oz Silver Maple privy coin -- the decal came from @raybrockman and the silver came from me @thedamus.

Further, when @raybrockman woke up this morning with some fresh btc in his fresh wallet he became inspired to host a contest: He is going to give away two 1oz., numbered, Silver Steemit coins that are now in production. All you have to do is send any amount of btc to his new wallet and you will be entered to win the coins. Pretty sweet hey? And all this in 2 1/2 months :)

Steemit is great! And you're right, it is great because everybody is so cool to one another.

Keep on steeming and dreaming

Cheers! from @thedamus

@lindahas really helped me out since I landed on steemit, in the first few days she introduced me to Minnows Accelerator Project and was always supporting my posts and would advise me on many occasions. Also @rycharde, was of huge help, as he dedicates his time to the Minnows Project and makes sure to guide those in need.

@stellabelle and @mammasitta. I would have to say they are the two that I feel have helped me the most. Not in a direct sort of way as in "this is how you do this", but in a response real person kind of way.

I saw some post of theirs, I made a comment, and then I was engaged by them,(no not to be married LoL). Since those early days I have commented on several of their post and they engage their real followers. They showed me in an indirect way, that steemians are real, and that they are nice.

I have tried to emulate them in my comments to people that follow or comment on my blog/post, or comment on my comments to other peoples post. They showed me that conversation is not frowned upon here, they showed me it is okay to be real.

And the really cool thing about them both? they were both early adopters of steemit, They are from the class of 2016, and they talked to me as if I had been here as long as they have. They were real, and that made me feel real.

great post..
thank you

Great initiative @walkingkeys. I love the vibe in Steemit.
Being a month old here, I had explored quite a lot around the community.
I was first introduced by @cklai to Steemit, we both are good buddies and like to explore new stuff, especially things that can become assets.
Along the way, I met with some steemers like @newpioneer, @a-alice, @newpioneer that are friendly and helpful with tonnes of advice and supports.
Though I am still far away from getting a significant revenue from Steemit, I am positive that through further exploration and learning. This will definitely be a great place to share ideas, interact and learn from each other about literally any topics.
Keep the spirit and Steem On.

Really cool Steemonians that have helped me out & that i think more people would follow are;

  1. @walkingkeys!!! You are SO GOOD i even have no words. When i needed help and commented on your previous post i never expected that you will answer and help (i mean ,who i am here to get such a help,i am a minnow ,a baby 9 days old).
  2. @papa-pepper .This guy got me going every time i wanted to give up.His posts are so entertaining and colorful.Oh ,almost forgot, he also upvoted my post and commented on it.Never thought i would get an upvote from a whale so quickly.

Almost 3 weeks in and have met quite a few super helpful people. I have a couple dedicated followers (@finelife and @catonwheels) that's you. Trying to figure out if I'm posting crap or if it's just not being seen by the right people. I hate to ask for help because I know that you're all super busy, but I know if I don't, I won't get any better.
Thanks for posting and for the 30 Days project!
Best,
Mo

Steemit is definitly the coolest place to be @walkingkeys. I was introduced by my bf @alioops when he grew tired of constant trolling and stereotyping on other social media. One steemit you can still argue and debate like grown adults, burpt its much more respectful.

The coolest lady i have met on steemit is @crosheille. She always has an encouraging word and positive feedback on every post, has some of the sickest crochet work and started the #needleworkmonday tag, linking so many fellow crafters 😃

To stay cool, dont always ask for followers or upvotes, just be yourself and start a conversation :)

My best Steemians who have helped me along my journey so far are @surpassinggoogle @stephenkendal @starkerz @dragonslayer109 and many others.
@surpassinggoogle always give words of encouragement, tips and obviously upvotes.
He is solely responsible for my reputation score growth here on Steemit.
