The 7 C’s Of Steemit Success

in steemit •  7 years ago

Going from the minnow school of fish to becoming a dolphin on Steemit, there are a few things you will have to do. To try and make it easy for myself, and other people trying to move up in the Steemit world, I’ve found that there are 7 keys to success. Strangely they all start with the letter C.

1. Consistency

If you want to be successful on Steemit it will depend on you being consistent. Sure you could post a post and get a huge reward, but that isn't likely. If you want to grow on Steemit you have to be on here daily posting and commenting. Without consistency, you will not reach the heights you want.

2. Complaining

One thing you don't want to do is complain. It won't get you anywhere. There are people who spend a lot of time on Steemit, but they are not growing as fast as they would like. It happens to all of us from time to time, but the main thing you need to avoid is complaining. I've seen a bunch of people who have been on here for over 6 moths complain and blame whales for not moving up. That isn't going to help. No whale will read that and say, "hey, he's right, I do need to give this minnow a 100% upvote." Just stay positive and do the other items on this list... but do it without complaining.

3. Creativity

Creativity is one huge factor that you cannot ignore. If you want to get votes and get people to follow you, then you need to be creative and add a unique voice to the platform. I'm confident each one of us have a unique perspective, but you have to find it. Take your time and be creative with you posts and put in some good thought. Don't just throw up a video that you saw on YouTube. It is fine to post a video, but give us your creative interpretation and thoughts. Be creative!

4. Convert To Steem

If you really want to grow on Steemit, then you need to build up your Steem Power. When you get your SBD, then convert some of it to SP. Sure you can take some profits, but if you want to grow, then you need to focus on converting a lot of your SBD to Steem Power.

5. Curate

You are not just here to post blogs, but to be successful you need to also vote and curate the content on Steemit. After you post a blog, go out and read and curate 5-10 blogs. Get involved. Not only do you get good rewards for curating, especially the higher your SP gets, but it also allows you the chance to see what others are doing and a chance to learn from some of the many great Steemonians.

6. Comment

Engage with people. Don't just read a blog and upvote it, comment and engage with the writer. This is the best way to build up new relationships and to find new followers. Don't be afraid to comment and leave your thoughts. It is a great way to meet people, but a great way to get some extra rewards as well. Make sure your comments are well thought out and not just, "nice post".

7. Conversations

When you are posting a blog as people to comment and start conversations in your post. Open your topic up for discussion and when people comment on your blog, go back and thank them and start a conversations. Go back and forth with sharing ideas and discussing your blog will help build better relationships with your followers. It is important to not just look at blogs and comments as your opinions, but look at them as a way to start a discussion and have meaningful exchanges with people.

Steemit is a wonderful platform and you can grow to escape the minnow pool, but it isn't easy. It takes work and following the 7 Cs.

Ok this is a good post I'd really like to share with my friends. And yes on the complain part. Figured I saw several posts that put a title like WHALES DO SOMETHING OR I WILL... And usually that point of time I hit the UNFOLLOW button. 😂 Seriously, law of attraction yo.

Thank you for this, I’m trying my best to muddle through and learn as much as I can. This post is very helpful to this newbie (minnow?)
