After 8 months of writing blog posts on steemit I've finally reached 100 steem power! It did not come easy, but it marks a milestone for me. Although I have to confess, I could've reached the milestone a bit earlier by putting all my steem to steem power. However, I've been contemplating on what to do with the steem. Maybe hold some (around 10 steem) for use in case I decide to trade with sbd and steem on the internal market. I'm still holding about 7 steem and am undecided if I should put it all into steem power.
Strong support for powering up, but also concern
I'm a strong supporter of putting as much steem to steem power and as you can if you believe in steemits future. Personally I've been having moodswings of a sort regarding the future of steemit. It isn't as clear to me anymore. I'm very concerned about the lack of recognition for quality posts. I've been talking about it for months.
Not only have my concerns not disappeared, I'm afraid the overall quality of steemit posts hasn't gone up, but rather things like memes are too appreciated. I've discussed the issue with not separating effort from minimal effort. To put it simply, it doesn't make sense to give as much visibility and potential for reward for memes as a post that takes 5 hours to write. Both can go completely unnoticed, or they can both be as noticed and upvoted. Hands up who thinks this is ok?
On bright side
The more people who power up the more people will keep their funds in steem even when markets take a turn like now. The market has been a roller-coaster for a few months. Bitcoin goes up, alts go down, alts go up, bitcoin goes down, alts go down, bitcoin remains stable, altcoins go up, bitcoin goes down, alts go down, and it goes on.
However, with steem, those who are normally fast to react are unable to make rash decisions. This is a really good thing and therefore I'm also keeping most of my steem tied up to lessen the urge to react to what the market is doing.
Next step
What is my next step? Umm.. 200 steem power? I dunno. I hope I'll get to 200 steem power someday, but the time to get high rewards is coming to an end. This cannot last forever and eventually to make one steem one will have to be really popular. I'd imagine comparing those who get $100 now will get $1 by the end of next year. For now, I'll try to keep on posting.
well done buddy, write up like this is an inspiration to newbie on this platform. Yes! you can make money from steemit by contributing to the community. Keep it up am already following you...
