Vote-buying renders content quality completely moot. Our best stuff means almost nothing now.

Title says it. No need to elaborate further. Just be careful how much effort you put into your post if you don't have the funds to buy your votes.

It's a pretty sad state of affairs when one of the few real photographers we've got here is posting this. I can't disagree. With the amount of pure filth getting pumped up to Trending with vote buying, the real content creators, the honest and legitimate users, are being left behind.

You're talented but not as a scammer. That's the real problem and the fact that I'm saying that is dicked beyond all belief.

...the fact that I'm saying that is dicked beyond all belief.

It is, but...is it surprising? I don't think it is.

Not surprising in the least.

Amen.

Its frustrating, but it seems all we can do is just keep doing what we do best as creators and support the people we genuinely enjoy here.

welcome to steemit. I gave up a while ago. Now it's just small blog bullshit for me. Best upvote I ever got was from @blocktrades and it was some meme bullshit.

Best things I ever wrote only got $15 upvote.. multiple times. I had spend hours writing them.

Bots win.

I recall hearing about this more than a few times and if memory serves me correctly there are groups of Photogs and Genuine Content Creator Steemians working with some devs to fight this. The efforts do not seem sufficiently organized though. If original content creators continue to fall victim to automated dilution this will effectively destroy the heart of creativity on this platform. P.S. I also see occasional upvote wins on obviously plagiarized images and artwork. It's still the Wild Wild West here in many ways. Anywho, I hope you get some better vibes coming your way.

If you see votes on blatantly stolen photos and can help identify the real photographer, straight to the steemcleaners report please -- https://steemcleaners.org/abuse-report/

OK cool! Thanks for the link!

Couldn't of said it better myself.

Thanks. How much do I owe you for that upvote?

the second post today about this - I keep most of my posting organic - i tried to buy a vote here and there - but my little minnow acct doesnt really have enough SP or SBD to compete - so i just keep trodding along. My future hope is that the platform will gain enough steam(pun intended) that there will enough users that vote-buying shit will calm down a bit.

I'm supposed to reply with a good comment, however I'm speechless, as you said, no need to elaborate further.

Well, I consider it a part of the system... Yeah it's disheartening when I write post of 4 hours then I get around $0.00-$0.15 (excluding my upvote and bots votes).

But I think what I write does matter. When I link to my current posts a month/year from now. I don't want to link to posts without effort... I want them to think "Why this post is so undervoted?!"

But @winstonwolfe, you raise a good argument in your post title.

But when this site have readers, they will know who to read for. Even if all trending/hot pages are filled with 5 minutes written junk. It's like YouTube, you don't go there to watch at random. you go to a specific page OR specific keyword via search feature, which is why I want a better filtering system in steemit.

I would agree with you, but then I went to the trending page...

Haha~ yeah... I tend to be too idealistic sometimes most of time!!
