Fascinated by blockchain, crytocurrency, etherium and other blockchain-based applications

I'm new to steemit. I started learning about Bitcoin a year or more ago. I have implemented some of the more interesting algorithms in python just to get a better feel for the "magic", and I think I have a pretty good understanding of how it works. Now I'm trying to learn more nitty gritty details about the algorithms that run Etherium and the coding of smart contracts. Not surprisingly, good quality information is scarce. I'm sure the situation will improve in time, so, while I wait, I'm playing with related but existing technologies like steemit and zappl to try and understand exacting what's going on by intuiting it from the UI interactions.
