Good morning Steemians and newbees like me,
there is a very useful site created by a Steemit user where you can see all important informations about your account on Steemit:
To see your account info it's very easy:
https://steemd.com/@username/
Just type your username into the address where is writen "username"
Save the site to your bookmarks, so you can look at any time to your newest account details.
You can check your voting weight and your remaining bandwith with one view.
Be careful that you have always remaining enough bandwith, if you get out of bandwith you have a problem, you cannot act anymore how you want and have to wait until it's filled up again or you have to power it up and pay for it.
Things what increase your bandwith:
too many upvotes and replies, upvote only what you really like and reply only to useful comments, not upvote for upvote everything
editing posts and replies cost you bandwith, better read your posts and comments careful before you post
redeem rewards, don't redeem small rewards, collect some and wait until you need them
resteem, only resteem what you think that's really usefull for your followers
following, follow only users you like their content or users you think you can learn something etc., not follow only for follow
Feel free to comment if you know more things which can increase your bandwith, I would be thankful about any information.
On this site you also can see your last post, answers, comments, replies, your last redeems and much, much more..
I hope this is a useful information for every newbee on Steemit, we are never to old for to learn something new, if we only want.
Have a wonderful Sunday and best regards
Tom

Thank you for this helpful and useful article. I wish I'd been able to read something like this last week before I started hitting bandwidth issues! Now, I just sit and wait.
Oh, upvoting seems to help you gain bandwidth again, though only if you're on the positive to begin with. :)

Just refreshing my steemd.com page led to my available bandwidth going further into the red. :( If in doubt, assume what you're doing is costing you your bandwidth!
