I have never had a fresh homemade cheese danish and your post really makes me want to try and bake one for myself! In the U.S. you can buy cheese danish at the convenience stores, in my area the popular brand is Entenmann's https://www.entenmanns.com/en/products/single-serve-cheese-danish?category=56
I have of course snagged these before in the stores. I just never imagined they could be made at home. Ok I think what really gets me is the realization that the cheese is cream cheese, a main staple in most people's fridge (I think I even have some right now just waiting to be used). Something about danishes seem so exotic or complicated - it's a PASTRY, images of snooty French pastry makers handing down the hammer of judgements
... but your instructions are easy to follow. Hey I even have a metal mixing bowl so I'm sure to have good luck, right? ;) Bring down the pastry "hammer" of goodness I say I'll try.

Confirmed!
Great comment Antimetica. I hope you get around trying out the recipe. Please let us know if you do.

Thank you @danielsaori I will. I'm not much of a cook but I do like to bake :) I am envisioning making spiral "horns" instead of a loaf. Haha my mouth waters thinking about it.

hello, friends ,,,,

My name is @ masril, and I want to tell about toast, my time in kos, which is very tasty and if already in nyoba must be asked again, because this toast is perfect for us who are more hungry, because this toast can bring the stomach we are full, and it feels very sweet, because it is mixed with milk, and the way it is also easy, try to see how to make this toast is very easy, Olesi two slices of bread with butter and chocolate milk.

  1. Bake for 5 minutes (if you do not have a toaster, just use an iron).
  2. Ready to eat with a glass of milk, and it feels very good friend.

haha, really it @danielsaori, i'm glad to hear it, hopefully i win.

Well, unfortunately, I can't speak too authoritatively about my experiences with bona fide cheese danishes, as I'm lactose intolerant and not much of a fan of cheese anyway (I know, I'm weird). Also, my partner recently went vegan, which has spilled over to all cooking activities. He's really into it right now, so I get lots of guilt if I bring anything not vegan around him. For my fellow vegans, partners of vegans, lactose intolerant, or dairy allergic friends, here’s a vegan version:

DOUGH

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup lukewarm water
  • 1/2 cup lukewarm milk milk substitute - I recommend vanilla almond milk + a tablespoon extra
  • 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) butter Earth Balance, softened
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla or 1/8 teaspoon Fiori di Sicilia
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten 3 tablespoons applesauce + 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 cups King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour

FILLING

  • 1 cup (8-ounce package) cream cheese vegan cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten 3 tablespoons applesauce + 1 teaspoon baking powder + a splash of water or milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla or 1/4 teaspoon Fiori di Sicilia

GLAZE

  • 1 egg yolk melted vegan margarine
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 4 tablespoons sparkling white sugar

Confirmed!
Super cool to reply with a vegan proof recipe. Well done!

I'll let everyone know if I get a chance to try it out! I'm not 100% positive about the applesauce + baking powder as an egg replacer, but it should work. That mix is good for replicating the fluffiness with a little bit of binder, but of course it provides a very different flavor. Follow Your Heart just came out with a full egg replacer that is supposedly pretty good, but getting a good egg replacer that performs all of the functions that egg can serve from common ingredients can be tricky.

If you're a vegan who eats honey (some do), adding a little bit of honey would give it some extra binding. Same thing with maple syrup.

Congrats on this week's 2nd Prize!
I wish you a nice weekend.

My God that bread looks too good, I hope I can prepare it at home, When I saw the photo I thought it was puff pastry and that is very complicated but then when I saw the ingredients I see that it is simple and it also looks extremely rich until I could imagine the taste hahaha ... congratulations to the friend who published it and congratulations to the one who makes this contest for minnows. Thank you.

Confirmed!
Happy to have you here Blessed-Girl.

i must say that the description in his post was very detail and informative. how easy it was for me to replicate and produce exactly what he has done by following the instruction and measurements given by @wizardofcheeze in the post presented. you are a good teacher indeed, i love the way you presented the procedures, the materials needed for making Cheese Danish Bread and the narration used are just too perfect for anyone who do not have idea to try it out with a better chances of succeeding. to me this is the best guide i have come across on making Cheese Danish Bread. thank you @wizardofcheeze for the tutorial.

Confirmed!

hey @wizardofcheese - you did a great job folding over the dough! I like how it made a little design of lines in the end. Nice touch as opposed to just flopping the entire side over at once.

This is wara

  • one of nigeria local cheese

Which I helped my aunt prepare for our family consumption and it is very delicious.
Most african's have little interest in cheese making but it actually doesn't take much just as you @wizardofcheese made this danish cheese while listening to pandora.

Your recipe is awesomely prepared, i wish i could have some.

At your leisure please also try nigerian recipes, i bet you will love them.

Confirmed!
Thank you Mr Speaker :)

Thank you sir

Such an informative post from @wizardofcheese.

  • Danish cheese construction.

Cheese are a good source of carbohydrates and I have tried preparing it twice.
There is a saying that

Danish women are the most beautiful in the world.

so I must commend your effort in making such an excellent recipe even while listening to Pandora.

You did the best by detailing the procedure for its preparations so we that always like making a taste would have to make this one more perfect and palatable.

Confirmed!

Union of two nations, I am from Caracas Venezuela, as you know my country is in a very bad economy with which to try this kind of things is very strong for our pocket since we have a minimum base salary of 5 USD but if I have tried it in an island of my country called Margarita in which many imported things arrive and I can say that they have created the fusion of Danish cheese with one of the typical dishes of my country that is the arepa, imagine that union of two cultures would be an explosive taste in the palador, try it try the arepa with Danish cheese.

  1. Ground corn flour is needed
  2. Danish cheese
  3. Mix the corn flour with water and salt to create a homogenous dough
  4. Heat a frying pan and put the arpeas in a round shape
  5. Open and fill with Danish cheese and see how the heat of the arepa makes the cheese is deliciously based.
  6. enjoy it

descarga.png

that would be the result, what seems to you this union of two countries far from completely different cultruas? an explosion of flavors, a big hug from Venezuela thank you for leaving us this opportunity to grow

Confirmed!
Thank you for your contribution. I would think that they are quite different but I understand where you see the similarities.
And I had never heard about Arepa, so thanks for the tip.
It will definitely be something I would like to try.

Hi, @danielsaori and @wizardofcheeze, first of all thank you for sharing this recipe, it really looks great and the clear and simple instructions as well as the pictures that guide us, make people like me, who don't know much about cooking or baking, understand them and follow them to the letter, it even gives us the opportunity to experiment with the stuffing and adapt it and maybe add some extra ingredient according to our tastes.

I hope you'll continue to share simple and rich recestas like this, see you.

Confirmed!
Thank you for your comment, May.

Honestly I've never really had a cheese Danish, so I'm pretty much missing out on some real delicacy. But I must say the sight is really mouth-watering, and even better is the fact that the ingredients can be easily gotten around here, so I'm saving this page and whenever I'm up to some culinary adventure, this is where I shall begin!

Confirmed!
Good luck, Pundit.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

I am from the sunny Molova, a country of vast pastures, where hundreds of thousands of sheep graze. Sheep cheese of different varieties; young, soft, seasoned cheese of hard varieties, very salty and fresh cheese, imagine a country of cheese and you will understand what Moldova is like .... what kind of Danish cheese can we talk about, and even more so in bread, you say? You will be right, but, only partially, half.
Every month I run to the store and buy briquettes, which is about 3.5 kilograms of Danish cheese Gouda. And we do not have enough for a month, I run a few more times and buy this cheese. The aftertaste of this cheese is incomparable! Light bitterness, a little sweetish, this is my favorite cheese. I've heard about Danish cheese bread for a long time, but I did not dare to cook it. Previously, we had an oven that could not be adjusted to the desired temperature, and there is no such recipe in the automatic bread maker, I confine myself to French bread.
But, after reading a step-by-step recipe from @wizardofcheeze, I see that now I can do it. The ingredients are available, I'm sure that the next baking will be just Danish cheese bread with the recipe @wizardofcheeze!

Confirmed!
