Steemit and Me

It's not easy when you start a platform like Steemit because there are too many mazes of technical intricacies to learn before you even have your 1 dollar in your wallet.

At first I was too eager to see how this platform work when he (I still don't remember the guy who introduced me to this site - and what I have in mind that if he responsible for me getting into Steemit then I think he is the one) told me to try the site. I wasn't listening that much because it's another no no-nonAdsense with a hallelujah SEO that you are into, again, grilling your time to write a poem and yet your earning isn't enough to buy a jeans. I signed-up just for curiosity, but before that I was curious how things work. After typing the URL of the site, there you can see the front page (above) how simple it is to look upon. You are dead wrong. If you are really new in steemit might as well read (the white and the blue paper for references), back then I just read the white paper and how Steem, SBD and Steem Power works. Of course I was lost! What the heck is steem? What is SBD? What is SteemPower? What in the world am I into!?


Posting an article at first looks enticing. Here you are in an Editor mode. You might think that writing on this editor is as smooth as silk. The basics are here, but you can't Drop Cap a first letter, you can't wrap around a text with graphics, you can't double space a paragraph, etc. It's simply an editor for basic viewing other than that you are on your own, except if you are using a Markdown / Github syntax which I think is time consuming unless you are a programmer or something to that effect. I was petrified! It took me time to learn this platform. I have no choice but to search about how I post my article in a nice way.

What's this? The heck should I know back then about Rewards? I don't know about Upvote post the 50%/50%, the 100% SP and the Decline Payout (Nah it's not for me lol!) Nobody thought me how to earn except I post it the way I regularly doing it for many years from other blogging site. Oh my, this is Steemit! What makes me more irked is nobody is seeing your post! If nobody is even upvoting your work how will you earn in the process? I'm fed up... I might as well go slow than eagerly trying to post a quality post without even noticing it?

Here's the catch... I don't even now that I'm a Nemo! Unknown! But Dolphin? Nah far from whatever it was back then. and the Whale? Who's the whale? I really don't know and I don't have idea that on Steemit the economy is under the mercy of a Dolphin and a Big Brother Whale! Hallelujah!

Little that I know I haven't gone anywhere, I didn't accomplish anything. I don't know what the heck am I doing on Steemit despite I aggressively post an article every day. I'm a minnow with nothing to lose except, what, I sure hope you do know it by now. But who cares? I just want to blog for all I care! I was about to quit when this young mother of 3 caught me and encourage me to continue her name is @antonette, I wasn't aware that she was a fan of Steemit because I regularly post my article on my feed. She joined the site.  Then she explores  it with passion. She want's to learn more how Steemit work. 

Then out of the blue she bumped into this group or individual until the first time she met Surpassinggoogle. I was very down, then that I haven't earned for months. I was supposed to be at the event where Surpassinggoogle was the speaker, but the storm was unforgiving. She called, but I really can't. Months had passed and unfortunately the first time I met Surpassinggoogle was the last day of her mother's wake! 

For now I'm still educating myself via fellow minnnows, the dolphins and the big blue whale. Though Steemit can or will help you in many ways, I'm still far far away from being a dolphin or a whale, unless I have a million dollar to invest! So much so for now. Need to keep on learning, teaching the newbie that I haven't had the privilege back when I'm starting to use this platform. I'd like them to understand how Steemit works but how things will make them a good citizen of Steemit!
