Why I Stopped Riding The Jeepney to the City

Been years now that I have ridden the public transportation of the jeepney going to the city from my town. We are 40 Kilometers away and the road is usually good.

A Jeepney is the most common used public transportation and can hold 12-18 people at the back depending on the length of the jeep and 3 people in front including the driver. It used to be standard of 12-14 people only because it was just short. Now they have different designs and length.

It is ok if the roads are straight and smooth. Th problem is when the drivers drive too fast or you are in a rural road, bumpy and dusty.

I think that was the reason I stopped riding in them. Was not good for my heart and the stress so I decided paying a little more and feel relaxed and commfotable is better than paying less but at the end you feel stressed out, body aches because of the bumps and all the dust and smog.

But last Sat. I had to ride in the Jeep because there was free transportation to the party.

Covered my head with a scarf that kept flying, wearing sunglasses for the glare and so that the dust does not get into my eyes and wearing a mask to cover my nose and mouth. So uncomfortable.

We were not crowded because they rented the whole jeep and there just a few adults and some kids. But the road was bumpy and dusty because of the road widening going on.

By the time we arrived at the party I felt so tired and achy hahah blame it on old age. Another thing is that the seat are kind of low and it is hard to move or stretch them. Good thing there was not much people so I could stretch my legs once in a while.

I wa so happy to see that the place was well air conditioned and the party has not started yet. We were able to relax and freshen up a little.

This is the front view of the Jeepney we used. Forgot to take a side view but I think it could hold 16-18 people at the back.

So I still went to another party in the evening and this time hired my "suki" taxi going home, relaxed and comfortable. So that is why I would rather hire a taxi and do all the shopping and buying medicines once a month.
