Direct experiences are an important resource and an enriching medium of information, which places children in direct contact with reality to learn from it, receiving information in an active and meaningful way. In addition, experiences allow learning to be integrated with a value not only in knowledge but also in the analysis of the environment.

Direct experience in the printing industry as an educational resource.

Through this experience, children will learn the technique used to record, how to make the binding, the printing process and finally how to produce a publication.

Objectives of the visit to the printing press.

  • Encourage curiosity, interest and creativity in learning.
  • Possibilities of action and execution.

  • Have the opportunity to know new things.

Role of the educator in the visit to the printing press.

Contribute to the personal experience of each student, contributing to the achievement of their learning in a creative way, allowing them to participate, and get involved in reality by developing skills and attitudes for an assertive intervention with the environment.

Learning and fun activities in the printing press.

Students will appreciate the work done in the printing press, through a guided tour. They can see directly the operation of the equipment, the colors that will be used, the materials, the type of paper, what is due and what should not be done, generating this experience, a contribution to the knowledge acquired.

It is essential that the visit be pleasant and full of knowledge, explaining to the children that the paper is obtained from the bark of trees, and that in the evolutionary process there have been different types of machines, showing some available, to be appreciated and to learn more about the change that has emerged in the industry.

Activities that generate learning:

Color application. In this part, the guide of the printing press in the company of the educator, shows the children the colors to use, for the elaboration of the works that are made there. They can be part of a new experience and the enthusiasm for wanting to learn will be much greater. Students will participate in the creation of impressions, choosing the colors that will be used and that will be permanent, stimulating them to want to discover what the environment can provide in a meaningful way.

Realization and printing. There will be a brief talk about how the work teams will be used, which will give us a beautiful result. They will learn how paper and paint are introduced into the machine. The best thing is that they observe the art already made with the materials chosen by them, such as: the color, and they can feel part of the work in the printing press.

Final process of the elaboration. Students will be part of the process of empastado appreciating the reading and texture of the material, enjoying the colors reflected there, as well as recognizing the great work done and the techniques used to carry out the expected result.

Realization of the work by the students. In the printing press, a previously planned space will be created before the visit, dedicated so that the children can create an impression for themselves, in another type of machine designed for the execution of the work.

They will be the direct creators of art, and the experience will be much more rewarding. Of course, they will have the help of the teacher and the guides of the place so that everything goes according to plan. Each child should have the opportunity to experience doing the work for himself.

Activities in the classroom after the visit to the printing press.

The educator should ask how they have felt and if they have learned something from the experience.

Questions they can ask:

What did you think about the visit to the printing press?
What did you learn in the printing press?
Did you like the update of the machines to make the impressions?
Are the letters and colors of the designs to your liking?

Involving them in activities of direct experience, stimulates the senses and opens the way to personal development.
