Steemhomework for the week | Visiting the chocolate factory with the children

in steemiteducation •  6 years ago

Hello friends, thinking a bit about those activities that I would like to do with children, I think of hiking to the chocolate factory, but not exactly to the factory of Willie Wonka, but rather to a real factory like the factory and chocolates shop of ESPAI XOCOLATA SIMÓN COLL in Sant Sadurni D'Anoia Spain.

Well, I think that all children or the vast majority, love to eat a delicious chocolate, in addition, all children are fascinated by machines and factories and I think this would be an excuse to teach about the process of transformation of a product farm in a delicious treat. I always remember that visit I made with my classmates to a factory, but in my case we went on a trip to the maize flour and corn flakes factory in my city, we had a great time while we learned a lot of things.

So, guys, prepare for us to go to Spain to the chocolate factory of Simon Coll!

When visiting a chocolate factory children can have fun and learn many aspects of food, knowing the origin, the transformation of raw materials and packaging is something that allows children to open their minds about food. There are many children who believe that food is produced and originated on the supermarket shelf, but they do not know all the process that is done in the field, both on farms and in the factory, which involves the knowledge and work of many people .

When visiting a chocolate factory children and aducltos should get the answers to questions such as:

  • Did you know that cocoa comes from a tree called Theobroma Cacao that is found only in the tropics around the world?
  • Have you seen a cocoa bean?
  • Do you know what smell the freshly roasted cocoa gives off?
  • Have you seen the process of making a bar of chocolates?

In the chocolate factory of Simon Coll you can get the answers to all those questions through an impressive audiovisual montage with spectacular and innovative images, where children and adults can take an experiential tour of the origins, culture, history and Simón Coll chocolate making process.

The explanations of the guide will complete the visit, making it possible for you to get in more direct contact with the world of chocolate by experimenting with pineapples and cocoa beans, molds to make figurines, etc. There you can also see the operation of the pilot plant, you can try the fresh chocolate and learn to taste it optimally. They will enjoy a multi-sensory, unique and innovative experience.

The 180º audiovisual space. A large audiovisual cube that will transport you in space and time to discover the history of Simón Coll and chocolate. The traditional workshop The original centennial factory will come to life to teach us in a clear and understandable way the traditional manufacturing process of chocolate. The pilot plant. You can also see how products are currently made through the pilot plant, which is the experimental area where the manufacture of new products is made and new textures and flavors are developed.

The store, more than a store, is an experience in itself. You can find more than 400 different chocolate products, tasting areas, discover novelties that are not yet on the market and enjoy the special exhibitions of chocolate products that are prepared for special moments of the year such as Christmas and Easter.
