School is a place to study for students. In addition to the place of science, schools are also expected to change the behavior of learners to be better again. Behavior changes determine the graduation of students from school. Thus, the graduation of learners is not only determined by numerical values only. Behavior change toward better direction so as to produce graduates with character that determine student's graduation.

Character values can't be measured using test instruments as a matter of course. However, the student's character values can be observed based on the rubric assessments that have been designed. Therefore, the teacher must first formulate the rubric assessment of the character of the learner before the observation process begins. Observation of student character assessment is not only done in the learning process. Changes in attitude must be enforced comprehensively from the start of school entry until the end of the lesson. Even better if able to observe changes in attitude while being in the family environment and society.

One way to increase the value of the character of students so that there is a change in attitude to be better is through the enforcement of discipline. The intended discipline is in the framework of enforcing school regulations. Each school has rules that all school members must adhere to. One of them is coming on time. Time discipline is so important that regular school programs work as they should. So what if breaking the school rules? Of course the student must be given sanctions.

Implementation of school sanctions should be done so that enforcement of regulations can go well. Under the rules set by the government, the imposition of sanctions must be educational. This needs to be done considering that one of the functions of the school is to change the attitude of students to be better in accordance with the guidance of religion. Before the sanctions are enacted, it is better if the school regulations are socialized to all school residents. Especially if the socialization is also done to parents of students. Thus, all school residents and school committees will understand and understand the sanctions given.

Educative Sanctions

Many educational sanctions are applicable to schools. Among the educational sanctions are as follows.

  1. Pick up trash. Garbage collection is one of the educational sanctions. By collecting trash students are accustomed to live clean and tidy.
  2. Read the book and summarize it in the library. This sanction is great for students who are lazy to read and write. Thus, the ability of student literacy will increase.
  3. Write poetry. This sanction is also very good applied mainly by Language and Literature teachers. Thus, the students are able to improve the skills of writing poetry that leads to the improvement of literacy skills of students.
  4. Make newspaper clippings. These sanctions are able to make students more diligent in collecting information from print media.
  5. Collective sanction for one class is to ask students to clean up the class in a mutual way. Although the value of education is quite weak but able to familiarize, the students work together and mutual cooperation.
