Steemhomework for the week! How to handle difficult parents, when teachers are also parents!

in steemiteducation •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello friends @steemiteducation is a pleasure for me to add a granite of sand more to the tasks proposed each week and this time the topic is a big challenge, nothing easy to deal with difficult parents and who want to somehow manage the objectives of the classroom, and the most tremendous thing about this is that we teachers are also parents and we must also know how to deal with the different characters that we have in the classroom as teachers and outside the classroom as parents!

TEACHERS ARE ALSO PARENTS!

1

Often as teachers we meet difficult parents who are troublemakers who always try to tell us how to do our work in the classroom, who demand too much of their children and also question each of the decisions we make as teachers in the classroom, deal with these people is not easy especially when they have a volatile character and are offended by any comment, as teachers we have a great responsibility to know how to take these people, and above all things to know even bear ourselves before the situation and that in addition to teachers in many cases we are also parents is a balance of take and give me.

Today I want to share certain rules or patterns that I always try to carry and practice inside and outside the classroom!

  • Keep calm at all times:

If a representative approaches annoying or violent, the best thing to do is to stay calm at all times, without hesitation, although it is not easy, but this will prevent the discussion from getting out of control or at any time the difficult parent will try to mediate and find a solution, avoiding that this takes more time than indicated trying to clarify their point, they always believe that they are right, but in the classroom only teachers know what we live, this way will make the parent to whom pay attention to what he says, he will not have a negative attitude towards his opinion.

2

  • Rules must be established inside and outside the classroom:

In this case, the representatives should be encouraged to attend the meetings held at the school so that they can be aware of the objectives proposed by the teacher throughout the school year, and can raise their concerns.

3

  • Learn to listen to parents:

As teachers it is important that we learn to listen to parents, even when they often question your decisions, this is one of the most important and practical advice you can learn to clearly listen to what they have to say to you, even if it is not of your likes and dislikes, it is our duty to listen, even if it is annoying is one of the best things you can do.

4

  • Treat all parents in the same way:

As teachers we must learn to treat all parents equally, and include our duty is to learn to treat all students equally, regardless of whether their representative has a postive or negative attitude towards their teacher, at this stage it is perhaps difficult to maintain our position but as professionals we must achieve it.

I hope that these tips that I have raised have served as a guide to put them into practice, I say goodbye to wish you a happy and blessed day!

A technique that can be used to deal with conflicting parents is to maintain a constant communication with them not only when putting complaints or raise problems, they must also communicate the merits and advances of their children so that in this way the parents little by little believing in the opinion of the teacher and trusting their criteria, the key is to maintain a good communication that will benefit everyone equally! Thanks for sharing and I invite you to visit my blog as I regularly publish articles related to the beautiful art of educating! I'm starting to follow you!

Likewise, he is a friend. We must regularly maintain communication with the parents of the students. It is of vital importance, thank you for commenting!
