3RD GRADE MATH - DIFFERENT RANGES OF MEASURING WEIGHTS IN METRIC SYSTEM

Different Ranges of Weights of Metric System

We know that 1 gram is the quantity of a pinch of salt or weight of a plastic pencil cap or a paper clip. Today we will discuss bigger weights. For example; we will skip count by 10s to get the idea of larger weights. 1 gram, next level is 10 grams then 100 grams and finally 1000 grams.

1000 grams known as 1 kilo gram or 1kg or 1KG.

Remember "Kilo" means 1000 times

Understanding of Grams and Kilograms is very important at this level as I see many students make mistakes while reading scales when they write 555 grams larger than 3 KG. To avoid such mistakes in the future grades students need to learn in 3rd grade that Kilogram is a larger unit and exactly 1000 times larger than 1 gram.

Below is a small activity sheet to get the hold of multiple of 1 gram weight.

these type of topics in math is very difficult according to my opinion

Not if we pay attention to basics, math can be easy if learned step by step. Thanks for stopping by dear friend @iwant!

thank you for training

You are always welcome my friend :))

Because students focus more on large numbers, do not focus on grams or kg. it's the same as when we give 0.599 practice .... 0.6 point in content with smaller or bigger marks, @mathworsheets.

Very well said my dear friend, thanks for supplementing my posts :))

Great worksheet on measurement. Love forever

Thanks bro!

Congratulations, friend @mathworksheets, you have a good gift for explaining mathematics. I believe that 99% of the population should know mathematics at a high level if they are taught well. excellent work of all the members of this community.
