We celebrated our cultural day in school on Friday 9th of March, 2018. Cultural day is all about showcasing your culture in the aspect of food, clothes, language you speak. They include Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa. I am one of the staff in Philtonia Royal School(PRS), located in Ogun State, the western part of Nigeria. I teach the Nursery class (nursery 1 &2)
Here I am,putting on my attire as a Yoruba lady. The cloth am putting on is what we call ASO OKE, my hair is in the local style, very common among the Yorubas. I am proud to be a teacher and I love to impact success in the life of children, most especially the little ones who are just learning to read and write.
This is my partner in her Hausa attire, she is from the Nortern part of Nigeria. She is fun to be with,a sister and very nice. She teaches the upper primary(primary 3 & 4). People call us twins that we look alike but I never believed, we are just friends.
These are children from the same parents, they are from EDO STATE, the Eastern part of Nigeria, they are also dressed in their native attire.
These are my colleagues at work. We are one big family,we met in the school and make sure nothing comes in between us. We really enjoyed ourselves at work, bringing different food and the children explained how it was prepared. I really love my attire. Am proud of my language and state (kwara state).
