It feels like there is nothing wrong with our current system.

What is it?

Children sent to the school for learn and prepare them to face the real world. That in fact change very quickly. But the school has not changed much for hundreds of years.

Many experts around the world agree that the current education system is designed to work in industry diera factory and the mentality is still running in schools.

First problem: the Industrial age values

Child protege with a stack of tasks, and manage their lives by ringing a Bell. Throughout the day students do not do anything other than follow the instructions. "Sit down, grab a books and open page 30 and finish reserved the number 5" so always hints being taught. In all schools you are rewarded for doing what you are told. This is the value the value of the industrial age that really matters to a factory job.

Their success depended on the instructions and did exactly what she was told. But in today's world of what can be achieved by simply following the instructions??

In the modern world people person should be able to be creative, and be able to mengkomunikasi their ideas and collaborate with others.

But kids don't get a chance to develop skills. In a school system that is based on the value of the value of the industrial age.

Second problem: lack of autonomy

Children in schools have less autonomy and control. Every minute of life a child is tightly controlled by the system. But in the world at the moment, if you do something then you are the one who determines your time alone. You make your own decisions about what you should do and when you will do it, however living in schools is very different.

This system seems to send a message to kids that they are not responsible for their lives. They only need to follow whatever is specified, instead of taking over and determine the direction of life, experts believe that autonomy is essential for older children. This is not surprising in the future children's will get bored and lose motivation by the school.

Third problem: inauthentic learning

Most of the learning that happens in schools today is not authentic because it depended on memorizing. This meaning system is a set of generic knowledge that all children should know. And a few months later we measure how much knowledge that survive by administering the test.

We know that learning is not authentic as most of it missing the day after the test. Learning can be deeper and more authentic, it can become more value than just memorization and retention. But that's the only thing that is measured in all schools, and test scores are one of the things we appreciate.

This has created a culture that is not very healthy for students, parents and teachers. Older children spent time joined the hours to memorise and they will soon forget it.

Fourth problem: No room For Passion

There is no room for passion and hobby. We have a system where every child should learn the same things at the same time in the same way, this does not correspond to human nature. Because each person is different and unique. We all have different interest and passion, and the happiness of life is the key to finding and fulfilling this passion. But whether the current schools help children discover and develop their passion?

It seems that there is no room in the current system to the most important questions in the life of a child.

What is my expertise? If my expertise is in compliance with the needs? This system seemed to him don't care.

Many talented people who failed in traditional school system, fortunately they were able to overcome the failure, but not everyone can.

We don't have a measure for how much talent, how much potential that is not recognized by the current system.

The Fifth Problem : How we Learn

Each of us is different from how we learn. Both in how much time is needed and what is the best method for us. But our education system does not have room for such differences.

So if you are a little slow in learning something, you will be considered a failure. When you need to do is a little more time to catch up.

The sixth issue: Lecturing

In the current system, children receive lessons for more than five hours a day, but there is a problem with this.

Sal khan of the khan academy said "the fundamental experience of inhumane" because the 30 or so children just silently listen to without being allowed to interact with one another. Then in one classroom the students different definitely has a different level of understanding as well. There are the students feel bored because sitting in the front row, and sometimes there are also students who are confused because it sat in the back row. Because of the internet and digital media, kids have access to all information in the world. Technology has made it possible for anyone to learn something. But because of the fear of loss of control it has not been used widely.

Our education system that developed in the industrial age has become obsolete and ineffective.

If we are to prepare our children for the modern world and would like to learn to be effective and interesting then there is no doubt that we need to fundamentally transform our education system to be better.

                            Regards,
