One of our school literacy programs is "planting literacy trees" in each class. Philosophically, "planting literacy trees" means to instill students' reading interest.
There are many ways that they did to decorate the literacy tree. This shows that students are very creative in choosing themes, colors or types of literacy trees. They agreed on these ideas in a small meeting in the classroom.
As you can see in the photos I will share here. There is a literacy tree where the leaves are written in English vocabulary. This English vocabulary can also help students memorize the vocabulary.
This idea is very good. They can add vocabulary in their memory. They will also renew other vocabulary. But this depends on their agreement.
Let's look at the literacy tree in another class. There are classes that "plant literacy trees" with pictures that support their learning in the classroom.
There are many ways to grow literacy trees. The materials needed are very easy to obtain. Colorful paper and cardboard are the main materials. Literacy trees should be a center of student motivation in the classroom to increase reading interest. Therefore, literacy trees should be made interesting, have added value, and foster a love of literacy. Creativity is the key to "planting literacy trees".
