So... 🤔 how does this work?

Hi everyone! So I jumped feet first into SteemIt, blockchain, crypto anything. I usually like to figure things out and I’m glad I got my profile set up. But, I feel I’m out of my depth here. How does it work, really? Can anyone provide some laymen terms for this newbie? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
