Ho hum. As usual, when I post from a critical stance, I end up with a huge case of writer’s remorse. The ranting ends up putting on display my apparent lack of knowledge; obviously beefing about something from a place of zero facts, and equally as bad, misinformation.
These such rants happened twice this week. Thankfully, @bescouted politely educated me on the post discussing my lack of ‘favor’ for, what I mistakenly identified as the “new” Steemit logo.
I was so glad to learn the facts; and, equally disappointed with myself for giving less than 100% accurate information. I am relatively new to Steemit; and, admittedly have only scraped the surface on even the fundamentals of the Steemit platform, and Steem blockchain.
Instead of listening for expert wisdom, and researching the facts, I yielded to the temptation of spouting off. Instead of looking up at the MYOB reminder covering my camera, I clickety-clacked my way into a topic I apparently am not versed enough to discuss.
Let’s get to it.
In the first post discussing the new logo, I learned that this is not Steemit’s "new" logo; it is Steemit’s logo, period.
That beautiful blue logo that many of us are lamenting replaced the Steemit logo is more accurately, the logo for the STEEM blockchain. Because it is linked to the blockchain, that beautiful blue logo is decentralized, and free to use with modifications as any Steemian pleases.
This means that all of the paraphernalia with the STEEM logos is still as pertinent as ever. In fact, when you see the logo on a tee or other object, this is a representation that this person supports the crypto STEEM.
They may never even visit Steemit. They may use other platforms which support the crypto STEEM (i.e. busy.org, Utopia, etc).
Clearly, I was happy to be enlightened with the knowledge; but, simultaneously remorseful, knowing an apology was due. Should you click on that post, I’ve made an update to acknowledge that a major correction is found in the comments section.
On that note, let it be said that I am going to learn to love the Steemit logo. I could be wrong; but, based on the comment, it is not Steemit’s old logo. Technically speaking, it is Steemit’s FIRST logo.
Btw, did you know that Steemit is a private-owned company?
Moving on.
The second post requiring an apology of sorts is the post expressing personal dismay for @tipU’s performance.
First off, let it be said that I am putting @tipU back on my ‘highly recommended’ list.
Yes, it was a little slow in posting; but, after a few days, the balance did appear on the transaction record in Wallet. It even showed with icing on the cake, as it posted accrued interest.
How cool is that? For putting money in the @tipU pool, I get a percentage of the interest it accrues. That’s too cool, guys. And, if you haven’t invested a few coins into this project, allow me to suggest that you do so without haste.
Furthermore, be generous and tip fellow Steemians whose work blesses you on some level. Even though whales may not need the coins; I think remembering to say thank you for work that exceeds usual value, is important.
But, staying on topic, @tipU is a good app for multiple reasons. Even though the response was a little slow, I had to get off my high-horse and acknowledge that the developers responsible for this ingenious project aren’t letting it collect dust, as I alluded.
ALSO, my criticism of the values not posting accurately, made me sheepishly remember that on signing up, I entered a default value. The mismatched values are totally my error.
Smh…the app does what the user asks it to do. Rme. It’s easy for me, a person who knows nothing about coding, to criticize those who do, and might I add, are doing great things for the community.
So, I’m going to ask for another apology; this one from @tipU.
I hate apologizing; but, I also hate not having peace in my spirit.
And, I especially hate adding to the false-information trash heap, currently littering the platform. I almost think people who put out inaccurate data should receive a warning flag. Today, I’d be on that list.
That’s it. Thanks for allowing me to eat a couple slices of humble pie.
I’m including the links to the flawed posts below:

And to save you a trip over there, here's @bescouted's comment:
You should read more on the matter. The "old" logo as you call it is a logo for Steem blockchain. It is CC and everybody can use it in any way they want as blockchain is a common decentralised product. The "new" logo is a property of Steemit Inc the owner of steemit.com which is just a front end application on Steem blockchain.
Steem does not equal steemit.com and they are in a way separate entities.
Of course, if you think he deserves an up vote, please head over and give him one.
Peace.
