MALE ANGELS(mama, I was chasing my dreams)
Part 1
We all had about the death of Paul A.K.A Paulosky. He had died in a car accident, no, a trailer accident actually. Witnesses said his brain popped out, and that it was a terrible scene.
1998
On a huge mahogany tree root, I was sitting next to Paul. Amidst the hot air afternoon, a woman accross the street was struggling with her cooking ring. She had to go down on her knees to blow her firewood to fire.
"She's really suffering. How can she stay near that fire under this hot sun, must she sell potato chips?" Paul said
I sighed, observing this woman. I couldn't tell her age because we were just six and at that time, I had three age groups in my mind — the children, the middle people and the old. She was old.
"Maybe she doesn't have money. She's looking for money." I finally answered.
"Why didn't she go to school when her mate did?" Paul retorted.
"Maybe she has never had money." I answered
'shhhhh' her pan began to cry. Her fire was burning now and her chips frying. She stood up and began to arrange her sales table. On her table was a show glass meant to contain the chips when they were ready. It was a transparent show glass which allowed passerby see what's holding and get attracted.
"Well, I will never be as poor as that woman. I'll rather die than live like that." Paul said
Paul, the troublesome of all the kids within the neighborhood has dreams I thought, but my thoughts didn't forsake that woman. How bad could it be for her that she had to come outside of her house at half past twelve in the afternoon to fry chips under the hot sun using firewood.
Paul stood up from the root bench and started towards the farmers market.
"Come on David, let's go and play." He said.
I stood up as soon as I heard play and dashed towards the same direction.
