World Polio day and Vaccines

While I fully support the policy of free speech in Steemit, I do think that you have to answer the critics of vaccines with science as they are potentially not only harming themselves, but their community, especially as it is World Polio Day and the world edges towards being Polio free.

Below is a map showing outbreaks of preventable diseases in the world and here is the article with the full map and the extent of the problem.

You have the right to believe anything you like, whether it is that the Earth is flat, that Saddam Hussein had a Stargate or that the moon doesn't actually exist, but when you propagate the idea that you know more than physicians and scientists or that they are in the pockets of Big Pharma, then you need to explain population studies that involve over half a million people and prove that no link exists between vaccines such as MMR and Autism.

Yes, vaccines can cause terrible side effects for a minority and yes, we can and should protect our bodies with proper nutrition, active lives, sufficient sleep and less stress but encouraging people not to take vaccines is potentially contributing to increasing numbers of outbreaks.
