Today was the day! Had my appointment scheduled since last week and felt pretty good about it, confident. On the ride there, however, my wife knew the anxiety was getting to me. This was my first tattoo. How much will it hurt? Will I be able to take the pain? How's it going to turn out? All racing through my head at warp speed.
Sitting in the 'waiting room', I felt like I was about to get a tetanus shot. Palms sweaty, moms spaghetti. On the surface I probably did not look calm or ready. At least that's how I felt. I listened to rap the whole time to help me get through it, probably why the 'Em' reference came to mind as I am writing this.
I went to a very reputable tattoo shop called "Queen of Hearts", about 15 minutes from my house. My tattoo artists name was 'Creed'. That's the name he was given at birth. With a name like Creed, IMO, he was basically born to tattoo for a living and has been doing so for the last 9 years. I think he did a great job!
I'm pretty jacked about it! Big thanks to @artwatch for the initial inspiration! In the future I might add some shading to it, but for now I am fully satisfied.
In the next 5-10 years I intend to reach whale status and equal up the tattoos with another one on the other leg, maybe a whale sitting on the moon. We'll see! Thanks for reading and Steem on!

I am really great with the changes! Each tattoo artist usually has to accommodate their own style, so in the end tattoos are like a long term art collaboration between 3 or more people... unless you go into the shop first and pick out the artist you want to do the design and the inking.
