HOW STEEMIT CHANGED MY LIFE

I will start by appreciating Dr. Great Success @dobartim for setting up this contest as a way of encouraging co-steemians mostly minnow, I really treasure the wonderful work you are doing in steemit school. Thanks to my wife @nellyprecy who introduced me to steemit school without her I will not be opportune to see this contest.

I @theheralds started steemit on September 2017, I heard about steemit by a friend who knew nothing about steemit I started making research about steemit through youtube channels and google. I later met @ogochukwu who mentored me through his @bluewaves project.

When I started it was very difficult for me to receive comments and upvotes on my post until I discovered @stach created by @ejemai. @stach project really motivated me to keep on blogging because of daily support they gave to me. I quickly joined stach movement called #project20millionnaija which was designed to enroll twenty million Nigerians into steemit. Joining stach movement has really added an edge to me in this platform.

For five years and two months I got employed to an under paid job, and I have struggled to pay my bills. Now steemit has helped me in that I quit the job and start running my own computer business center as you can see in the picture, to me it was out of the wood and free like a bird. I am free to carry steemit evangelism to all part of Nigeria and that is my goal.

STEEMIT HAS HELP ME TO MAINTAIN GOOD HEALTH AND FITNESS
Initially I blog about health and fitness and I designed what I called #steemmedic @theheralds, later a friend of mine @nairadaddy started #air-clinic and I joined hands with him to build air-clinic. In air-clinic discord we have an evening section where we discuss about sickness and remedies, we also have clinic fm where members contribute to ongoing discussion, this section has helped me to improve my diet and remain healthy.

KNOWLEDGE WISE
Since i joined steemit I have read so many articles that affected my life positively, motivation, science, technology, agriculture sports medical, finance etc. Before I comment on peoples post I first of all read through and during the process I found out that I am acquiring more knowledge. I make research for most of the articles I want to write during this process steemit has help me to widen my horizon knowledge wise.

STEEMIT HAS GIVEN ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO START BUILDING A BRAND.
I am sports lover, and i discovered that in steemit blockchain there is nothing you can not build. That prompted me to start blogging on soccer, I open a blog called @steemsoccer1. The whole idea of steemsoccer1 is to link sports with blockchain and update people about sports news as a result forming a sports network information centreand that will serveas a medium of introducing the youths into steemit.

In the name of steemsoccer1 I organize football tournament for the youths and reward them with the little I have and before the tournament kicks off I will first of all orient them about steemit. Last week steemsoccer1 sponsored a football tournament powered by @steemcamp at a university in Nigeria (UNIZIK). I am passionate about this my idea and I am determined to use this project to do more in promoting steemit in Nigeria and globally all I lack now is support but I keep on believing that one day that support will come.

COMMUNITY BUILDING
During the mid December 2017 till January 2018 I was bent on training newbies and introducing new people into steemit platform. Along the line I encountered a challenge that is new members getting fade up because of lack of support, I was dampened to even invite people to the platform, I later embark on a journey of community building to see ways I could help this minnows. To actualize this I embark on 5 hours journey to south-south Nigeria for @stach hub launch in a way to meet other steemians, after the meetup I organized what I called enugu-steemit ignite.

During enugu steemit ignite @ejemai @tojukaka @samstickzz @eurogee @nairadaddy @ewuoso and many more well reputed steemians in Nigeria answered the call and we got recognition from them. With the publicity of the ignite other steemian around were able to locate us and today we are building a strong community.

From my office I have trained more than 50 active steemit users and the community is growing rapidly. Steemit has turned me into mentor I also created Enugu steemit whatsappgroup where I train minnow and encourage them to keep blogging. We also created a whatsapp link promotion channel to enable newbies promote there post and to upvote them. Thanks to my team @sparklez @gee1 @setapart for the enormous work they are doing in enugu-steem community.

Steemit has made me a community leader, I have many newbie to carry on my shoulder and I am happy training them only what I lack now is support. With the help of @sparklez we created enugu-steem account and discord, the essence of creating this account is to have a central account we will use to vote people among the community. With the little contribution from the members we are trying to borrow SP from minnowbooster as soon as we succeed we will use it to up vote and encourage minnows.

On 18th of this month our community will be having a meet-up, in this meet -up we will review our project and discuss way forward for our community. In our whatsapp group I created what I called friday happy hour, this happy hour is a weekly section we use to encourage newbies, we organize a little contest for them and reward them.

COMMUNICATION
Steemit has help me to make friends from different parts of my country, during inter-state meet-up I am now invited for public speaking, this public speaking which is geared towards building a brand in steemit block chain as a way of promoting steemit has really connected me to like minds who are currently working with to build steemsoccer1.

Currently @euronation community built by @eurogee is organizing a meetup called Owerri meet-up which is scheduled to hold on 17th march 2018 and I was invited to be among the speakers owerri meet-up.

On 17th I and my steam@steemsoccer1 will storm owerri to represent our brand.
We will use that medium to invite sports lovers to join our weekly match prediction where they will win sbd and also follow our current sports trending news in our blog and in our discord.
