How to Deal With Being too High (Steemitzombies Second Chance Post)

I am re-posting this article for two reasons. First, I think that there is something of value here for cannabis and psychedelic users who may have this problem. Secondly, I want to participate in the steemitzombies movement which was created to help give quality content, that earned very little, a second chance on this site. With that out of the way, I hope that you enjoy this bit of advice that I originally shared last month.

If you smoke, vape, or eat weed chances are that, sooner or later, you will get too high and that's not something you should be scared of. Sure, it can be a little bit uncomfortable, unsettling, or even scary but it's not dangerous and if you know a few tricks you can turn your careless dosing into a positive and enjoyable experience.

Overly exuberant dosing; it happens to the best and most seasoned users. Sometimes the weed is way better than you think. Other times, you forget how much you ate and eat more. If you are a new user you may get impatient with edibles and eat too many too fast. It doesn't matter how it happens. You will, one day, find yourself to be too high and how you handle it matters.

Some unfortunate souls give in to paranoia. The paranoia turns to fear which turns into panic and panic leads to the dark side or something. Their high is ruined. They are scared away from the fun and harmless hobby of cannabis consumption. They might even needlessly rush to a hospital which will cost them money and give all users a bad name. These things, however, are not unavoidable if you take a few steps to prevent them.

If you feel that you are too high the first step is to remember that you are safe. The drug you took has never killed anybody and chances are you aren't going to be the first. This seems simple but it something that could have prevented a lot of unnecessary hospital visits and anti-cannabis propaganda stories.

The next thing you must do is give yourself over to the experience. Marijuana is a very benign drug but it is still powerful and if you try to fight it you will lose. Instead, embrace it and let it bring what it will. After a while, you will find that you are enjoying yourself and are invigorated by the intensity of the experience. If you pull it off, you may find that you would like to try high doses again which is great because high dose cannabis buzzes can be really fun and interesting.

If you are still struggling with your buzz, try to distract yourself. Drink a soda or eat a snack and the sensory input will take your mind off your anxiety. Taking a nice hot shower works well too. You could also change your setting by moving to a different room or even by changing the music or television that you have going. It doesn't matter how you do it as long as you make yourself focus on something other than how high you are.

Lastly, always remember that you will come down. Highs go away and you just have to make it through this one. Grit your teeth and strap in because its going to be a long night but you will be stronger at the end of it.

If you use these tricks you can and will make it through any bad weed buzz. They work well with psychedelics but you should exercise more caution with those drugs as they carry more potential hazards than pot. Just be safe and be smart about how you choose to alter your consciousness and you should be fine.

True. I think the body high is what gets people. You can feel very disconected and that can be scary if you don't realize whats going on.

I read your initial article on this, and I think we may have had a chat about the time I legit thought I was having a heart attack. It was not fun. Fresh air helped a little bit, along with some self talk "you know what this is..." But it was a scary experience nonetheless, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Oh yeah I saw that comment when I was getting the text for this. Haha yeah those weed panic attacks can feel super real. I once saw a guy who thought he lost his ability to speak. He sat there with a look of silent terror for like three hours lol. The stuff I list here is super simple but it helps. Sometimes all it takes is having a drink or switching music because the high mind gives importance to weird things sometimes.

I do hope this actually helps someone at some point because I hate reading marijuana hit-pieces about "marijuana overdose." They love to say how many people went to the hospital but they never say that the "cure" was being allowed to lie down in a cool dark room for a little while.

Oh shit, I was literally laughing out loud at that one. I can just imagine someone freaking out because they think they can't talk. I smoked out a girl one time who thought she was dying. At first I thought she was just kidding around until I saw the terror in her eye's, and I was like "I thought you were a smoker"? lmao. It was her first time hitting a dab, and I gave her a big ol' globber of a hit. I felt pretty terrible about it afterwards..

Lol those dabs do the trick. There was another incident I witnessed. These two girls who claimed to have a high tolerance. They both ate theses cupcakes that each had like a like 7 grams baked into them (they tasted rough, needless to say). Their night ended with one of them passed out with her head on the rim of the toilet bowl and the other one saying she couldn't walk. Luckily for them there were enough of us there who knew what was going on so we just let them sleep it off on a couch.

The trick is when you think you put enough weed in, double that amount.

How to Deal With Being too High let them sleep! is true. you can get into a black hole if you have used too much I have noticed that. I did not like that by myself
Had too much on but also tea herbs mixed drunk blood purification plant and skin purification plant I never do again
together with white wido all day I was a zombie for seven days the only thing you can do is stay calm and stay home is safer. do not do this

Haha, a bad buzz, too high, I always remember the words to an old Grateful Dead song, "and if you get confused listen to the music play". Just put in something like Bob Marley or anything that is pleasant, not to intense with a good groove and dance and sing your blues away and "dont you worry bout a ting cause every little ting gonna be alright!" Ya mon! Ganga never hurt nobody brudda!
