With 25-mana, Steem Monsters really opens up the possibilities of the card combinations one can use. This game stretches to get one to strategize how to best place their defensive and offensive capabilities against a wide variety of potential weak points an opponent might present.
While an outcome like this is very, very rare, the game can be quite merciless to demonstrate an undesirable outcome when an overwhelming assault barges through the front door in a manner that simply wasn't anticipated. It will happen to us all at some point in this fine game of balance.
This was painful to watch but quite an educational experience! Death is weak against trample so it's important to devise a counter to deal with that hydra. Part of the fun of this early playtesting is seeing what strategies work and what doesn't.
