I must say that the current dynamic on this platform is very strange!
Steem price goes down but this doesn't mean that everybody should just disappear. For me, this is the perfect shopping time and to keep on writing more and more quality content.

Well, maybe losing some people that are only here for the money isn't the worst thing that can happen to us. Also, the price is mainly falling due to the falling BTC, it is not really a devaluation of our platform. I enjoy the moments of life in tough situation rather in smooth situations. Currently everyone knows that value of Steem is quite low so is the response from the authors and readers. Steem price fluctuates, It is nice when it is a big price I guess, but do we want a Valuable Community, or a Viable community? Steem has given us both. For the investors I would say: The people of steemit that are still here are pretty much here to stay. They are going to continue to post and to chat and to make friends. Why? Because of the freedom to do so. I do not know if a blockchain can be blocked from use by a government or not, but I do know that the likes of YT, FB, and google can and have been blocked in various countries around the world.
Steemit continues to be a Valuable and Viable community. Like you mammasitta, I will be here, I was not here at the beginning or during the first major price drop, but I did read a lot about it, and well steem survived it then and it will again.

Apart from the markets that are seriously red, a lot of steemians are going off the platform little by little as the day goes by. Some say "no earnings lately", others say "Who knows if this is the death of cryptos", while a lot more others has their one reason or the other. It's difficult. I find myself bummed out lately. Payments are lower and general audience engagement is lower because people seem to have backed off due to the Steem price falling. Of course when this happens it makes the price fall even lower..

I also have more questions like miss @mammasitta in my mind about the future @steemit when Steem prices go down. I also will not give up and will always be patient to wait STEEN back up. When this STEEM is again low value, that's when we have to prove that we will always be faithful to him and will never leave him in the slightest difficulty. And I really agree with you @mammasita, "This is the perfect shopping time and keep writing more quality content", I always try to give and write quality content (please check my blog @ junsusukhairi) but I must be sad because this is not the perfect time for me to shop because I do not have steam and I only have sbd in very little amount. This is the pain and sad story of a new beginner in @steemit like me, want to shop but do not have sbd and steem. Maybe I'll be lucky next year.
