WARNING - PHISHING SITES FROM COMMENTS

in steemph •  7 years ago  (edited)

I got a comment from my post yesterday from a certain dcaroa telling me that an account name felixjasper was copying my post without permission. I tried clicking felixjasper's account to check if it really copied my post because I posted about my son but it says that the account doesn't exist. Following dcaroa's comment below is a link "tired little one" and I am really glad I didn't click it because I know my fellow steemians experienced being robbed with their precious hard earned SBDs and STEEMS.

Just this morning, I received again a comment from @arcange with a warning about dcaroa. That confirmed my suspicion that it was really indeed a phishing site, a scam and will leave you with empty SBD nd STEEM wallet.
untitled1.JPG

I have few SBDs which I saved since I got here last September to add to my son's insurance visa and I am fortunate I didn't click it. The thought of losing my SBDs makes my head hurts. I have been saving this for months and in just a wrong mistake, everything will be ruined! I am tired of paying from the people we owed money from and the only chance to lessen our payment for the upcoming insurance visa renewal is by selling my SBDs.

To my fellow steemians who will receive this post from dcaroa or ANY SUSPICIOUS COMMENTS (I intentionally didn't put the "@" so steemians won't curiously check her account for security purposes) PLEASE DISREGARD HER COMMENT AND DON'T CLICK ANY LINKS SHE POSTED. I considered changing my password yesterday but I realized I didn't give any password or click any link just the felixjasper which doesn't exist so I thought my account is safe and I hope it still is.

Thanks for sharing the world about the ongoing scams. I've got us browser extensions made to prevent this kind of attacks. Steemed Phish works 10/10 and I got a warning as soon as I opened the phish.

[ Powered by Steem ] Browser extension to prevent phishing scam attempts

Help us spread the word as far as you can!

resteemed..

Thanks for this information
It will prevent others from falling into trap and being hurt. And I wish defaulters ill luck

you are welcome @avowal

Omg...how dare they did this ...We work hard and get reward and they cheat us...Thanks for your warning ...Beware 😎

You are welcome. Take care of your sbd. :)

Thanks for updating us much to learn

you are welcome :)

Like seriously the bad eggs want to spoil this great community with all this their 419alttitle.hacking and steeling someone earning and steem is not doing anything about it.i pray they should not end up distroying this community ooo

Steemians wont allow it @tpassion. As long as we help each other and informing our felow steemians about the phishing and scamming, they wont succeed.

Normally, you can just hover your mouse over the hyperlink and the site will show at the bottom left corner of your screen. Just verify from there. Nakakatakot talaga so we have to be extra careful...

Salamat sa tip sis. Nakakatakot nga. Pag asa ko tong sbd ko eh. LOL

Trooots!

Thank you for the warning @jovema.

H. G.

You are very welcome. Thank you Sir @henry-gant for stopping by too.

Thank you for sharing this @jovema.

No worries @soulbella. Lets be cautios and keep our hard earned sbds and steems safe.

Wow, I wonder why people do things like this. I wish something legal could be done about them. This is just evil!

Thieves are thieves @paigegirl

Same with me someone said I copied a post from jerrybanfield but when I hovered my mouse it said I will be taken away from steemit Site so I did not Click it

Katakot. They know that many steemians hold their sbds so these scammers are on the loose trying to hunt for their preys.

Thanks for posting this one @jovema, we are now aware if ever we will experience like this

You are welcome po.

DON'T HODL your earnings at SBD/STEEM wallets. It is SAFER if we "Power Up" and just Power DOWN if we want to cash out or "Transfer to Savings" so hackers can't steal them right away in case we accidentally click their links. Or just HODL at BTC or ETH wallets na lang po kasi halos sabay sabay naman crypto prices pag tumaas/baba prices. 🙂

It is possible that dcaroa's account is also a hack victim and is only used by hacker because her account looks trusty one. So we should be very careful when clicking external links even from friends.

how many days to withdraw it from savings @pinay? Because as much as I wanted to power up, I will be needing the money this May.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

3 days po from savings, 7 days from Steem Power kaya hindi basta basta makukuha pag araw araw natin namomonitor account natin.

Steem (STEEM) Cash Out

mukhang maganda sa savings@pinay. I might try that one po. Salamat.

The same happen to me yesterday, don't click on the link that was sent to you and if you did change password immediately.

I clicked on a phishing link by accident, arrgh. The person who posted it had a high rep, but he must have been hacked as well

Yes he hacked my account to and used it to upvote and downvote people :(

I noticed that, hope you changed your password. I feel bad for some of the other people who were obviously hacked. One guy had a 53 rep yesterday posting recipes and now he has been flagged to oblivion. I hope changing my password is enough

Is your bd stolen @blackberryskunk?

No

Nice to know it wasn't.

Thanks for informing us. I will take note of this. We should be careful in clicking some sites here, we might loss our hard earn SBD.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Our earnings are SAFE as long as we only login using our POSTING key lang po :)

Thanks. I clicked on an account too,it says "unknown account" . reading this now gives me more knowledge.

Yes, its an unknown account. Dont click the next link too.

A lots of scam link flowing around steemit this time. Thanks for this great information. The warning is very helpful @jovema

You are very welcome. :)

Thank you for sharing your experience maam. this is helpful.

Thank you po.

You're so lucky.
Thanks for the information

I do. you are welcome. :)

Thanks for the info. I would have definitely clicked.

I am glad u didnt.

jovena you're a genius

advice ---Phishing scams pop up every day on steemit. Even if you aren’t seeing them in the news, you likely come across them in your inbox. Keep an eye out for anything that looks off, especially before clicking on a link or opening an attachment so you can help protect your SBD from getting into the wrong hands.

Thank you for additional info. @jordanlove

Thank you for the warning.

Thank you for the reminder. So thankful that you are concerned to us, your fellow steemians. Good deeds.

thanks dear @jovema for the warning few days ago one of our friend lost her SBD for trying 3rd party phishing sites. thanks for the alert.

Great stuff, @jovema!

We got to stay VIGILANT.

As you say, the phishing attempt gets somebody, the captured account starts posting the links, snaring more poor victims. It's like a bloody virus.

There must be something in the site rulings that allow for phishing accounts to be frozen until the rightful owners contact the site. Which is half the reason it takes 13 wks to empty an account, I guess.

I'm sure the site's onto it, but until then everyone needs to remain vigilant and know what to look for. The person(s) behind this may never actually get caught - in person - and can set up totally unrelated accounts as easy as 1,2,3.

So all we can do is keep stopping them. ASAP. :)

Forgot to say - IT'S IN EVERYONE'S INTERESTS TO RESTEEM POSTS SUCH AS THESE.

So that everyone gets to see the warning. C'mon guys.

I am new to this flatform. Thanks for the this post. It is very informative and helpful specially newbie like me.

resteemed, more users have to read this

Yeah, I received same scam tactics and thanks to @arcange's warning message I've been spared. :) This post of yours will be a great help for those who are not yet informed @jovema. God bless. :)

Glad to read I saved you from being hacked =)

Yeah! :) Thanks to you @arcange! God bless you! :)

And thank you for stopping by too.

Yes there's a lot of this happening. I had someone telling me me @ resteem was done for me. I was like never heard of them...

Crypto is a gold mine and most hackers are doing anything to get a hold of this valuable gem. I appreciate the heads up on such phising scammy sites @jovema

You are welcome @wameyo. I cant imagine these thieves.
