This is a video that has been brewing in my mind for weeks, but kind of took a different turn when I ran across a post by @dnews regarding curation and fairness on dTube. Perspective is powerful. It can completely change your perception of any given situation.

Vlogging in the rain? Oh yeah! We're Crowbar-in' it today! I'm not going to let a little rain get in the way of delivering this important message.

Ayn Rand nailed it in "Atlas Shrugged". Equal or fair voting across the board is in and of itself unfair, so instead of focusing on the perceived negative, let's change our persective! Whether the cup is half full or half empty is missing the point. Let's be grateful for the cup and the opportunity we have to fill it!

I chose @Crowbarmama as a handle because I believe in doing the best you can with what you have on hand. The crowbar is a multi-purpose tool. You’ll notice my photography is a bit rough, my grammar is not the most polished, but as a homeschooling, homesteading mama of 4, if I waited to take my photos until the light was perfect or re-edited my posts a 5th time ( I shoot for 3 drafts), I would never get a post out!

Don’t sweat the small stuff, just Crowbar it!

100%. It is the most important thing I have ever learned, what we focus on is what we get more of. This really is the answer to most of lifes questions and should be taught from day one in schools. Great post and co host cockerall

Haha, that's Garmadon and Voldemort. They like to compete for the spotlight!

I completely agree that this should be taught over much of the brainwashing in schools. I wish I'd learned it earlier, but grateful to be able to pass it on to my kids now.

Awesome job Mom!😉

Thanks sweetie! Thank you for sharing your wise thoughts!

Great video! Absolutely agree that there is always something positive to be found in each and every post we make. Maybe it isn't received as well as you hoped, but like you say, perhaps there was a great comment and you forge a new friendship. Maybe you get a single new follower who ends up being one of your staunchest supporters. Maybe you learn something that turns out to be invaluable in creating new posts. It's all super valuable, as long as you're tuned into thinking positive and looking for things to be grateful for. Loving your snazzy music and editing! :)

Thank you dear! I consider you one of those valuable virtual friends here. I always enjoy your posts, but also your engagement in your comments. I look forward to reading more from you, or perhaps you will delve into vlogging? 😉 The editing gets me in trouble because it's so fun and there's so much to learn. I feel like a kid again and a 10 second clip will sometimes keep me busy for hours! Lol! Anyway, thanks for stopping by. I do hope you are well. Much love!

I feel the same! Although we have different lives and very different focuses for our Steemit posts, it always seems like there's some level of kindred spirit shining through. I love reading and hearing about your life - especially when you touch on the ups and downs of parenting. Who knows, in a few years maybe this info will become super relevant for me. ;)

Healthwise, I'm making good progress and definitely improving, although still keep having ups and downs. Writing-wise I'm working on a couple of bigger writing projects that probably won't get any exposure on Steemit, but I'm keen to keep posting here as sporadically as I can with the hope of getting back to more regular attendance in the future. Haha vlogging seems to be what all the cool kids are doing but I'm the kind who has trouble even leaving a voicemail so probably not any time soon.

I see what you did there! nice tactic by putting the video on YT as embed on the post. :)

cheers

Thanks for noticing. 😉 I finally took the time to setup my @CrowbarMama acct there. Going to upload all vids there too. I hate searching for specific content here only to find dTube dropped it. How disappointing! Most articles are still relevant months or even years down the road!

I also really liked that. Was nice to be able to watch the video from your post instead of waiting for dTube to load. It feels disloyal to say it but I've had a lot of trouble with videos dTube and these days speed is everything.

This question is off topic. But I was wondering what the winters are like up there in N Idaho?

Great video as well. I could not agree more that our perspective is so important. Keep up the good work

Hehehe... The winters? Depends on who you ask and what the previous year was like. I should get my hubby, @guntotnhippue to give you his perspective.

For me, as a homeshooler and having my hubby work from home, I love the snow. If we're snowed in a few days, we just hunker down and enjoy. If we lose power, we've got a handpump on the well and it's housed in our shop. We've also got an Amish woodcookstove in the shop and gas range & wood stove that I can also cook on in the house. Our house is also a 2-story built within a 2000sq ft shop, so we can go from the house to the shop without going outside.

All that bring said, hubby had quite a bit of shoveling and plowing to do and we started the garden late because it was still buried under snow in April. So, he was getting tired of the snow quicker than I was. 😆

Pretty much you don't see bare ground (unless you plow) from December to at least the beginning of April, but we've only been here 3 years.

Let me know if I can give you more specifics.

Thank you. I have always wanted to move out west and Idaho is at the top of my list. I didn’t know your husband was on Steemit. I will check him out. Have a great day

He's stepped back lately. Too much work between his day job & the homestead, but I'll get him to chime in on the weather for you. Always good to get a His & Hers perspective! 😉

I agree. Everyone has power on this platform. Empowering yourself to create and distribute content globally in a decentralized way... And earn a bit of crypto for it.

Exactly! We all have an opportunity, so let's focus on that. 😉

haha - that rooster came in at the perfect time! I don't know how you can speak throughout that rooster!!!! I would totally get super distracted and lose my train of thought.

That's really cool how your kids had that perspective! Smart!

I love that "opportunities to be grateful."

Man it's either the roosters or the kids. Compared to the @crowbarkids, tuning out the roosters is easy!! Lol!!
