CABINET MAKER X #35 Mahogany Stairs Panelling. Part 2

in steempowerment •  7 years ago

Hi DTube woodwork Fans,

Welcome back to part two.

In this part I show you the sections of mahogany I have machined .

I have got everything to the correct width and thickness and added any mouldings on the router table.

I have also glued up a large quantity of oak panels for the drawers, I used expanding D$ polyurethane glue for speed.

In the next stage I will be concentrating on the frame joints.

I highly recommend that you make DTube videos to show us any woodworking projects you are working on.

If you have any technical questions give me a shout on the woodworking discord channel.

Out of curiosity, do you have a favorite wood to work with? What would that be and why?

Great question. For furniture I like oak because it is nice to work and never goes out of fashion, it also has a nice warmth to the colour.. For wood carving it has to be limewood because it is the perfect wood to carve. I can get it so thin in places I can see light through it. Thanks

ahh that beautiful "mahogany" word again haha. Nice little series u got going on, bud

Haha, I actually cause maslowmission to have a Freudian slip and say mahogany in one of his videos a while back lol. Thanks Man

How long does building these usually take?

Good question, I had never made one before so I wasn't sure. I still have quite a bit left to do but I would say three weeks or so. Thanks

Could you build some stairs for steem to the moon? ;) lol

I will start tomorrow but I may not get it done till next week.

Thanks for sharing this informative blog..keep it up my dear.
Always wth you dear..
Thanks again

Thanks
