Why am I doing this?
I would like to contribute in some kind of way for the community and I would also like to encourage engaging in this community.
Engaging help me a lot in building up my reputation, getting more and more upvotes slowly for each day pass in steemit and most importantly it doesn't only help me externally but also internally in terms of building up positive thinking attitude for myself.

I thought of putting my answer in my own comment so that it is easier for those who only want to give an upvote instead of answering the question given. Don't forget to read other answer too, who know what kind of thought the other have. It might give something nice for our thoughts.
Here is what I thought about an umbrella?
Umbrella is a simple tools that can give double protection which is protection from getting wet from the rain and also to protect us from the heat of the sun.
It is just like having parents. Both of them are like an umbrella and evenmore better because they will protect us almost from anything.

I'd thought to connect it with real life but you already include it in your post. Yah, so true parents become an umbrella for family, especially for you kids that still need protection from harm.

I like your concept of thinking about parents as a kind of umbrella. They do provide a lot of protection for the family. Kids like to be under that umbrella, but teens want to get out from under it. Adults finally realize how good it is to be close to their parents and they come back under the umbrella whenever they can. ☺

So I'll be taking about the real an umbrella that we use as protection from rain and hot weather's. The so many types of umbrella that we can find in the market. But it's up to us to choice. I love the umbrella that can fits more than 2 peoples with the light weight. Loves more when it's become as stick. It's okay weather it can fold or not.

My grandma told me that riddle when I was about 4 years old and it fits right in with what I have to talk about. Let's see, what else can I say about an umbrella? I keep a really big heavy duty one in the car just in case I'm out somewhere and get caught in a storm. But honestly I haven't used it yet. I don't really drive that much to begin with since I work at home. And if I do have to go out for groceries or to meet some people, I do that in nice weather!
The only other thing I can think of is that guy dancing and singing in the rain. I think that might have even been the name of the movie that was in. I just remember it was raining and he had an umbrella and he was singing and dancing in the rain. I'm thinking the guy's name was Gene Kelly but I'm not really sure. I guess I could Google it but maybe I will and if I'm wrong I'll come back and edit this!
