So today is the day...GDPR has officially been enforced. The team at Roller, alongside everyone in the EU, have had HUNDREDS of GDPR emails from companies frantic internal marketing teams, all hoping that we choose to click the resubscribe button, providing the official go ahead to receiving their marketing collateral.

Some emails have been binned, others have not even been opened and only emails from companies that provide us with valuable content have been resubscribed to. We wanted to give a shout out to the marketing teams who sent these GDPR emails as they stood out for their originality, humorous use of memes or inside jokes.

The Great Escape Games

A Sheffield based escape room company who sent us a GDPR email with a twist, with a brilliant use of a Matrix GDPR meme. A meme always goes down well in our office.alt

Wiser

Wiser are a digital creative agency fused with a recruitment company based in London. They have worked with some big named brands such as JustEat, Sky and Expedia. We loved their quirky GDPR email, filled with bold emoji’s. A millennials dream.alt

Tailgater

Tailster is a London based company that takes dog-sitting to a whole new level. They have created an app that gives pet owners the piece of mind of knowing exactly where their pooch is, with GPS tracking and real-time photo updates via the Tailster app. Making light of GDPR emails is always a plus especially when combined with a picture of a puppy; Winner! alt

Ustwo

Ustwo are a constant source of inspiration for the team at Roller. They are an innovative Digital Product Studio based in London and we love their creative approach to all things digital and really value the content that they produce. Their use of bright graphics and small uses of animations meant that we clicked resubscribe!alt

Sanctus

Sanctus mission is to change the perception of mental health in the workplace and they are now working with some big name brands. We love the way this small team are making a big impact to businesses across the country, and how they are driving the conversation that support of the mental health of employees is highly valued. An Inbetweeners meme, from the Sanctus co-founder James Routledge, alongside his open and honest blog-style accounts of his day-to-day at Sanctus meant that we hit resubscribe.
