Anywhere in this world, if we travel we find the roads the safest to travel on. And, what if I say that the roads on which you are travelling can become the reason for your death. Here are the 7 most breathtaking and dangerous roads to travel in the world.
1. Zoji La, India It is a high mountain pass in Jammu and Kashmir. It's unbelievable that the lanes are so narrow that only one car can travel at a time. And, if unluckily you got the livestock on the road. You'd probably have to wait to let them leave and then make a move towards your destination.
2. Transfagarasan, Romania In Romania this road stretches half way up and down. It reaches the maximum altitude of 5000 feet. The view from this point is no doubt breath-taking. But, one has to be very careful at that time.
3. Dalton Highway, Alaska This Dalton Highway of Alaska is the snowiest highway. It is believed that this place is very less traveled. It is also known for few villages with a very small number of people. The scariest part is when you travel miles and miles but you see no person.
4. Khardung La, India This road is declared by the Board of National Geographic as the most dangerous. In addition, the road has also set the World's Record. It is the tallest pass road in the world with about 18,379 feet. Because of its dangerous height, only experienced travelers are allowed to go.
5. Yungas Road, Bolivia For me, I would rather call it a Death road. It is true that every year out of 200-300 people, only some of them have been able to come back. On one side of the road, there is a mountain whereas on the other a sheer cliff. How could one travel on this while knowing such facts?
6. Atlantic Ocean Road, Norway This is the only road in Atlantic and from here the road got its name. People come here to experience amazing views. It's not less than being in heaven but don't underestimate the negative part too.
7. Le passage du Gois, France
I am sure you haven't heard of this road till now. This is the only road which opens for 2-3 hours a day. You'd be lucky if you can cross the road at the time. Because you never know when tides can make your car sink in the ocean.
