I found out this homemade liquor with sage in a small italian restaurant near my home. I really loved its taste, pleasant and fresh, and so I decided to try to make it by myself, because the recipe was really easy to do.
INGREDIENTS
- 40 sage leaves (better big ones)
- 500 ml of pure alcohol
- 500 ml of water
- 450 gr of sugar
- 1 lemon peel (optional) using only yuellow parts, and not white, cause too bitter
PROCESS
There are two distinct phases of the procedure, and you have to wait a bit more than a month, before to have liquor ready to drink. So you have to be patient... and I'm not at all :) So I'm counting days...
Phase 1
First of allyou have to wash, clean and dry well all sage leaves
After that, you have to put leaves into a bottle or an hermetic container, with a large opening, to fill and later take off leaves.
So now you can put alcohol inside and cover leaves
So phase 1 is done, you have to put container in a dark place for 15 days and shake once a day to move leaves and mix.
You will look sage release its aroma and a strong emerald color.
Phase 2
Finally after 15 days, we can procede with recipe, with an easy step: you just have to melt the sugar in the water, turn off the stove once it's loose and let cool.
And then add it to our alcohol and sage mix
You can see a lighter green mix and that's all for now, so we have an other hard step... wait again for 20 days keeping again a dark place and remebering to shake it once every three days, this time.
After 20 days filter the liquor with sage and help with a piece of clean white cotton.
That's all folks, you will have a very interesting digestive liquor, better to serve cold, with a pleasant and delicious fresh taste.
I'm really impatient and dream the day it will be ready to drink... then I will post my result!
Cheers and steem on!

You can simply find also in a supermarket because it's a base for liquor and cooking. It's about 10/15$ for a litre.

I don't like homemade liquors. To be honest, I generally try not to drink homemade alcohol because it seems unsafe to me. Now there are good and proven stores where you can buy, for example, hard liquor singapore. Why not do just that? In addition, in such stores there is always a very good selection of alcohol.
