The humidity along the Texas Coast is one of a kind, making high temperatures unbearable to be in. Clammy skin, clothes sticking to your body, and the extra moisture to your hair is hell on earth...literally.
Enough with the heat. Enjoy sitting on your porch with a great, refreshing red wine sangria. My recipe is very simple but a few things need to be determined before you make the sangria.
Wine Base - Are you in the mood for a red or white wine sangria?
Light or Heavy Wine - If you select a red wine, let me recommend a Pinot Noir. For white wine sangria, choose a Sauvignon Blanc. Why? It is simple. These wines are light in body and not too complex in flavor. Very important for the next point.
Type of Cordial/Cognac - I highly recommend using Gran Marnier, an orange infused liquer with brandy, or plain brandy. If you use plain brandy, your sangria will not be too sweet.
Type of Juice - Traditional sangria has both orange and pineapple juices in them. You can try both, maybe pineapple and cranberry, or be creative and use juice that already have mixed flavors. It's your choice.
Diced Fruit - Dice some fruit and freeze it. Once your sangria is made, drop the fruit and let the enjoyment begin!
In the first photo, I show the ingredients I used to make my sangria. This yields 2 gallons.
Remember, fellow Steemians, drink responsibly!!!
Ive only had sangria once, didnt really like it. Idk maybe the way it was made.
