SteemQuest : Through the portal (part 1)

Welcome! to SteemQuest a RPG based board game

[New Players]
SteemQuest is an ongoing and growing RPG world here on Steem. New players are always welcome. Players can come and go as they desire, just let us know when you are leaving (say you are taking an IRL 2 week vacation) we will make sure your character is somewhere safe until you return (or Thunk may just cover you with leaves on the side of the road)

Our Story:

The party after a night of good food and good fighting gears up and heads to the cellar and goes through the portal.

Questing rules are now in effect


[NEW RULES]

Web - if a player is hit with web they can not move until they break free. They can break free from the web by rolling 1D20+strength, they must beat the web’s target number. The web can also be cut or burned. If a creature is in the web when it is burned they are also burned. A player hit with a web is considered immobile

New status effect - Immobile: a creature that is immobile can not move or attack with weapons but may use any skill using the mind trait.

Hold Breath - a player’s character can hold their breath for a number of turns equal to half their strength rounded up. Each additional round with no air causes 1/2 ♥️ Damage

Quaid will start culling the herd. Not sure what the GRAB feature on my bow is, but time to find out.

Starting with the closest frogman, @rolld20

It's a hit, let me know what the effect is. If it immbolizes then I will probably spread my shots around the mob...

As you pick up the bow vines on it wrap around your arm making it more stable. (This gives it the +1 to attack)
As you shoot out the arrow a vine attaches it. (This is the grip feature you can choose to active it or not per arrow)
The arrow sticks into the frogman.

So now you have an arrow in the frogman and a vine attached to it. As the frogman tries to shake it free it wraps around him. He appears immobilized.

You think to yourself this has a ton of uses

Right, GRIP not grab. Not done experimenting, I fire a shot at the giant frog. I want to see if using a second grip arrow releases the first one. @rolld20

You now have vines attached to 2 frogman

Actually, not a frogman the giant frog. I'm going to try to tie up the bigger targets, give our fighters time to clear away the mini-minions. Last 2 actions, I move 1 square NW and shoot the second giant frog. @rolld20

omar: running 4 squares next to the giant frog whit a small one on top...

Zur: A little nervous, runs up to the front of the pack and readies his mace.. "So many strange creatures down here, what is this place, where am I?"

ooc: ill use my 4 actions to run as close as I can get to the nearest target. Am I actually starting at the back of the pack, or are we theoretically all starting in the same area/square? noob questions..

No you are in the back of the pack.
If you want to be in the front from now on I will put you in the front.
As you walk by Thunk you hear sounds coming out of the Key in Thunk’s pocket,

It says “Intruders !! Pull back form up. ‘

Thunk turns to Zur, “Intruders? Where”? Thunk reaches into the pocket and pulls out the key looking at it with. Very confused expression.

Quaid: "Oh, thank the gods I thought I was imagining that..."

Thunk - What the...? The freakin’ key is talkin’?

The spiders attack is a 16. Not 10. It will be updated in the folder soon

Thunk sees the frogman entangled in Quaid vine and goes in for the kill Thunk is ready to swing just as arrows hit it and kill it. Thunk looks back at the archers confused.

So Thunk turns to the two Giant frogs seeing they are also entangled and unable to move. Thunk sees regular arrows flying at another close target.

Thunk turns a confused look at ET. “ Have these gals never battled before? Why are they firing at the ones we can take out?” Thunk turns to the archers and says, “Use your range on the ones in the back. We can reach these hoppers”

Quaid: "Happyme, be sure to save some mana for that giant spider! I want to see the biggest fireball in the world when it's in range!"

OK, I'll be using my bow for now and save the mana for later.

OOC: Shouldn't my character card shield show 3 (that is the absorption isn't it)? And we changed imbue to walk-through-stone, remember?

Yes. I will update. Sorry I missed it.

I updated your car. Your absorption is only 2. You get an additional 1 absorption against 🔥 only.

Frogman

2 hearts and half a heart absorption. (found on old post)
So the closest frogman is dead and the next one has 1 damage of 2.5 total, leaving 1.5 to go. I was targeting the one riding the frog.

Oh oh... spider web has a range of 12, so we better take them down quickly!

Hard to check which enemies are hit already on my phone, but Pandora shoots at the nearest one standing.

"Hey, you frog-people... Can you understand us?" I yell out as the battle continues around me. "If you can, we would surely prefer to talk to you than to battle you! You have been seen in our world and now we have come to yours for some answers. Shout out if you wish to talk rather than fight!"

Since we have no card for the frogmen, (only frogs and spiders) I'll shoot at whatever is in range and still alive after Quaid put 2 arrows into the closest frogman.

Are you using software to update the cards or is all this being done manually in a paint program?

That's an awful lot of work! Personally, I'd be happier with a simple spreadsheet. Sure, the cards look nifty and all, but a spreadsheet is far more utilitarian and I'm a very practical person. I find it much easier to look at a spreadsheet with everyone's stats on it than having to scroll through a bunch of cards and try to remember the details about each one. That's just me and I know I don't fit the norm.
