How is blockchain technology being used in education?
I don’t know how it is currently used in education but I know one way how it could be used in education.
From what I’ve heard, most teachers are reluctant to share any material they have developed for themselves. There simply is no culture of sharing among teachers, which is highly inefficient. A dearth of good material is a perennial problem in the field because text books tend to vary a lot in quality and the material in them is often inadequate.
A solution to that could be to use a blockchain-based a content delivery platform such as Steem to share materials for free and get rewarded with the native tokens STEEM, SBD and SP, or an SMT (Smart Media Token, to be released in the future), a user defined token on Steem, or a user-defined Tribe token on Steem-Engine, a side chain of Steem. If the main tokens were used, the rewards would already have monetary value. If an SMT or a Tribe token were used, earnings in such tokens could be used by a teacher as a measures of public endorsement of their work in creating and curating good material or funding those activities. Anyone could fund the self publishing of course material by buying such tokens off the market and burning them.
