Another place you can find silver is Formaldehyde.
Silver can be used as catalyst to produce formaldehyde which is an embalming agent and has many other great uses as well, such as Disinfectant and biocide, Tissue fixative,, drug testing and Photographs. Unfortunately Formaldehyde can also be found in Such things as Soy Milk, cigarettes and many medicines including vaccines.
Silver is used in a process called metal catalyst.
A Catalyst is a chemical introduced to speed up another chemical reaction by lowering the amount of energy you need to get one started, without chagning the compounds. In the Dehydrogenation of methanol to make formaldehyde it is done at 600–720 °C over silver gauze or crystals acting as the catalyst.
Silver metal is a good catalyst for oxidation reactions and is used in many chemical process. It is actually too good for a lot of purposes,a very fine silver will result in complete oxidation of organic substances to carbon dioxide and water and therefore a rough or coarser-grain silver is usually used.
