Signs of the times?

Hey SSG!

I often ask myself if I'm doing the right thing by tanking $$ in pet rocks aka precious metals but then more and more, I see things on the news that may reassure me a little.

This week, many financial news reports are painting a pretty grim picture ahead but protests rising up like the yellow vest movement leads me to believe that the majority is starting to wake up. Do I necessarily support the movement? I'm not yet convinced of the intentions or agenda , certainly looks disorganized and seems pretty random at the moment but worthy of watching how it unfolds. Perhaps they are feeling the pain we all felt when we woke up to the tyranny when we realized every outfit was out to dig into our pockets until we have nothing left .

#1- 26 Billionaires owns more wealth than the poorest half of the world. How sickening...strait up. We are told to open up our wallets and give to charities that will just pocket your hard earned money when a handful of billionaires are sitting on most of the worlds currency just for the sake of having it and selling us our own natural resources and goods that we produced for them at sub-par wages at over inflated prices and then prey on their good nature to give the rest away to shadow charities. Nearly half of the world population live on less than $6.00/day. What a genius plan, how can anybody fall for that? Consumerism will be the death of humans physically and spiritually considering it's burying us in plastic waste along the way.

#2- Surveys taken by Canadians suggest that over 40% is $200 away from not being able to pay their bills and 46% regretted taking on the debt they did. Ouch! I wonder what they would do if they worked in the oil industry and have been out of work for as long as I have been!! I'm glad I have learned to go on a cash diet before the catastrophe , I don't feel as deprived as I should by now. Everybody reaped of the short sighted instant gratification reward of cheap credit because studies also suggest much was spent on lifestyle and electronics but now the party is over and as the interest rates are rising again everybody is waking up to the debt hang over. Having just passed "Blue Monday" the suggestions to get away from the blues is book a trip somewhere warm. Soooo if I get that right, If you are depressed about your bills and how broke you are, spend more to forget about it? WTF people can't be that distracted!

#3- If you live in the San Francisco Bay area and have an annual income of less than $117 000 per year you would now be considered low income? Up from last year's $105 000... Wowsers! that's disturbing, then again it sorta feels like that too in Alberta sometimes so I can relate. Never in my lifetime did I ever think that someone earning 6 figures would be considered low income, growing up I understood that that was a respectable income, times sure have changed so has the value of our currency. This is why I say stack on to that because it's going to continue to unravel until the people have nothing left. Be thankful if you didn't get caught up in the debt spiral the world has entered in and got pretty shinny things like precious metals instead of going on trips to distract you from your debt.
